12/24/120v fridge freezer power draw/efficiency comparison

The item I suspect will be the first to fail would likely be the cooling fan, but that seems a very common 12V item. When my Indel B 50 failed a couple of years ago, it turned out to be the fan. Fridge was throwing a code that nobody recognized so suspicion was a bad PCB, until the tech got...

Besides MaxTraxx, what traction boards/mats do you use?

I wanted to carry a set of less expensive boards in a truck that sees only occasional off road use, so I ordered a pair of X-Bulls from Amazon. Have not used them yet, but they seem to be OK for an emergency recovery of a lightly loaded full size pickup truck. Would not expect them to hold up...

    Replacing dual batteries......charging issue?

Determine **for sure** there are zero parasitic loads while in storage mode. To clarify, there will never be "zero" parasitic loads on a 2017 Toyota, unless the battery is disconnected from the system. Things like the vehicle electronics, alarm system, etc. will draw some minimal amount of...

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

I have driven 3~4 Sequias and something just doesn't feel right about them. I can't tell you what it is, but it is. That's my sense about the Tundra. Feels like a fast Camry with a bed in back. GMC feels like a truck.

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

I didn't have time to read this whole thread so I apologize if I'm repeating prior posts. I have not owned a Sequoia, but I do own a second gen Tundra. Have not owned a Suburban, but currently own a '98 GMC K1500 and an '04 Escalade. Also had a 2000 Escalade. For comparison purposes, my old...

So is a '9000' class winch 'enough' for a 6500# Suburban

But I've already run 1/0 cables to near my rear bumper, with future hitch-mounted carrier / winch solution in mind. That too was part of my 9000-class quandary, as the carriers I've found so far are only rated for that class. FWIW, Warn used to make (maybe still does) a frame-mounted front...

Big current needs in bed of Gladiator. Home run, or 2nd battery and gauge concerns......

Might be simpler and ultimately cheaper to buy a 2000W inverter generator, like a Yamaha or a Honda. I have a couple of Yamahas and either one of them will run my miter saw and portable 10" table saw with no problems. The other one stays in the garage. Street prices for new ones are somewhat...

So is a '9000' class winch 'enough' for a 6500# Suburban

If you decide to go with the 9K range, Ramsey used to make an 8500 with a hidden mount kit for GMC vehicles, so would save the cost of a winch bumper. Puts the winch behind the front valance, as I recall. Been a long time since I looked at those, don't know if they are still available.

    Need new tires

Any others I should consider? Would be helpful to know what kind of vehicle they will be on. I like Toyos for trucks and have Load Range E AT-2s on the Tundra and on the Power Wagon. Also ran a set of Toyo M/Ts on the PW and liked them. When the PW wears out the ATs, I'll probably replace...

    Pick-up Truck to Cargo Van?

Well, I'm not totally nuts. I think the jury is still out on that one.

    12V Jump Start Packs?

I don't have Noco jump packs, but I do have three different Noco solar battery maintenance panels. Those just don't work, so I'm not a Noco fan. I have AntiGravity jump packs in two trucks, both 5.7 gassers. The packs usually start the trucks when they won't crank, but I sometimes need to...

Sean, I'm not a buyer because I already have two RW1400s. Just FYI, the first one was lightly used and cost me $350, including shipping from Washington state to So Cal. Second one was unused for $150, picked up in east San Diego. I probably got lucky on the second one, but the market for...

    Increasing Power Wagon payload

He swapped in Hellwig heavy duty airbags and rear sway bar and was happy. That works. His PW has coil springs and mine is leaf-sprung. I installed Carli Hemi spring packs and Firestone air bags in the rear, and it solved my payload issues.

Battery issue or CTEK charger issue?

Ctek is pretty good about supporting their stuff and replacing it if defective. About three years ago I had a 7002 connected to my Indel B to keep some antelope frozen while I was out of town. Everything was good when I left and totally defrosted when I got back. Left the Ctek in "supply"...

    Where to get custom bumper?

12K is better than no winch, and will get you out of most situations. If you put a 12K winch on a properly built12K bumper, the winch should stall before you break anything.

Interesting video. Would be nice to know which headlight assembly they used for the test.

    Vehicle lighting resources

Yes, start by replacing the factory headlight assemblies. Not cheap but necessary because no amount of cleaning and polishing will make permanent improvements. Then, take the truck to a good tint shop and have them install clear film over the new lights, as if you had a new 911 to protect from...

    Where to get custom bumper?

I put an ICI steel bumper on the front of my Tundra a few months ago. Seems to be well made at a decent price.

    Where to get custom bumper?

Since you are on an E-350, why not check with SportsMobile or other companies that have a lot of experience with E-350s? Their E-350s were available with pretty stout winch bumpers that might be suitable, either as is or as a starting point for customization.
