Gary runs leaf springs reworked by National Spring. He has the regular Dana 60. We have no problem lifting the rear. It is the steering and drive line. I saw a F350 with a 10inch lift. He said he had no problems with the drive line. Steering was the only problem.

Bob' Do you have the round or square front axle? All the builds I have seen have the round axle. Mine has the square. I think they call that the super60. It is not the same that they use on F350 or F450 PU.

Yes you can buy a 550 pickup. It is rated the same as a 450 Chassis cab. It has a three stage rear spring pack. So the ride is not to rough when the truck is empty. The CC has a single 8 pack. The 550 is the same body as the 450 and the 350. The only differance is the fender flairs.

The Fabtech is a 6 inch lift and for the pick up truck. I have a chassis cab and only need a 3 to 4 inch lift. The truck has a camper on it. Kelderman rep told me the front ends are differant on the cab and chassis models. I will keep looking.

Yes I have seen the Turtle. Just lifting the truck is not a problem. The problem comes in the steering linkage. You can only have a max angle of 8 degree for the drive shaft. 4 degree is the most problem free. The Turtle is also leaf spring. The 2008 are coil spring.

I have two batteries in the boxes that are back up for the camper or can be used for the winch. The two box batteries can be separated from the truck system. As well as the camper batteries being separate from the truck. This way I can charge and use all batteries independent of each other...

I finished the front winch receiver. Not the best thing to look at but it will get the job done. I can now swap the winch from front to back as needed. I will be looking for some lights for the front also.

Another issue comes to mind with the weight of the winch itself. I have the 12k on a mounting system that lets me put the winch in front or back of the truck. I think being able to pick up the winch and move it is more important. I agree that most times you will want to winch out of a hole...

The Ford parts dept confirmed some front end patry are the same but some are differant. The pitman are is the same as F350. I found a company I can buy longer coils for the front for the same price as spacers. I think that is the better way to go. I also found 3 inch and 4 inch blocks for...
