    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Love the trailer but glad I had the winch last weekend. Steep slope, loose rock and a heavy trailer will stop a locked Rubicon on 37's and 5.38 gears... Once the momentum was lost that is...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Sorry for the late reply, have been busy at work before I leave for France for a week... The cases are made by Rigid and you can get them in different sizes from Home Depot. https://www.homedepot.com/s/22%2520in.%2520Pro?NCNI-5 They are waterproof, dustproof and actually airtight as I found out...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

I do think so. If you look at it, the arms are setup as skid plates that will let you slide the trailer over hard obstacles. (backing up is a different story) on a solid axle you have the axle tube hanging low. That said, I will be taking mine to Rubicon with a friend that has a very nice home...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Anyways, assembly to me (1 guy) a single day. Hardest part was getting the steel crate off. The suspension setup looks really nice and I am looking forward to really testing it out on the Rubicon trail. Here is my minor setup as I still have to take the RTT and other gear off my tacoma...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Hey guys, found this thread very helpful when deciding on a trailer, thanks. So I'll add my stuff to it for anyone looking for info as I did. I previously built a '16 Tacoma TRDOR into an overland rig, but after it left me stranded a couple times (long story) I decided to go another route - '16...

"Oh Gawd! Not another 16 Taco TuRD build" Build

Getting excited here! My Pelfreybilt sliders are done and I hoping to pick them up next Thursday as I will be in SD for a conf. The new bumper and winch is coming in and final skids are sitting at the house to be put on. Then on to the lift, wheels and tires. Too bad I won't have that stuff for...

"Oh Gawd! Not another 16 Taco TuRD build" Build

Thank you. Question for you - How do you like the Wilson 4G booster? I do IT for a construction company and some of our projects are in the middle of nowhere. Getting a 4G booster that actually works would be great.

Yes, there is some glare when pointed forward. I got these to point the pods to the side a bit. I have the headlights and the future light bar pointing to the front but I wanted something pointing to the side. It comes in handy when looking for camp spots in the middle of the night.

    Arb-3110A awning on a 3rd gen Taco

With the windbreak, it provides decent coverage for a couple people. At least from sun. Here in Arizona it doesn't rain much so I can't speak to that. I am sure that some good, sideways rain would render it useless.

    Arb-3110A awning on a 3rd gen Taco

Yes, definitely worth it. Here it's mounted on my Taco: And here it's mounted on my XJ: easy to deploy for a single person and stable. I have the windbreak as well which came in handy before as the sun started to go down.

Looking for Forum Members to Test a DECKED Storage System

I agree. I would like to get one for my 2016 tacoma as well. The tailgate is lockable so this would make perfect storage for daily driving.

Um, yeah, you really should join us sometime! Instagram: Phoenix Overland Group I am working on the website (http://phoenixoverlandgroup.com/) right now (we pretty much just started this group as it started growing from 3 to 4 to more now) but here is the last year's Rim road trip when I...

"Oh Gawd! Not another 16 Taco TuRD build" Build

Thanks guys. Just got back from Moab so sorry for the late reply. I took the stock taco on Fins 'n Things and it did great aside from some hitch scratching and the front bumper digging in the sand a bit. Here is a video my mom took: https://youtu.be/0Jpq_YtBP4I It was just her and I (she is an...

"Oh Gawd! Not another 16 Taco TuRD build" Build

Thanks! ok here is a mini review on the two: Baja Rack: Built quality is great, installation is easy with great instructions. They even include rubber pads so contacts don't make any noise. The wind deflector on the rack is pretty much useless (or so it seems) as the noise is very noticeable...

"Oh Gawd! Not another 16 Taco TuRD build" Build

Hello ladies and gents, and welcome to the white 2016 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4WD (I learned that there are 2WD trd offroad so figured I'll specify) build of the day. Anyways, long story short, I have a fully built Jeep XJ that is great, but it has over 200k miles on it and does not do so well in...

    WK2?

I have a 2011 WK2 on 18 inch wheels (smallest I could get due to the larger brakes) running metric size that equals to 32's on stock ride height. I do have the QuadraDrive II which is AMAZING for traction and the Quadralift which is does work well when offroading and comes in handy if you DD...
