    Need advice from the Land Rover owners.

    afaik the Santana gearbox is reputed to be stronger and more durable then the Solihull gearboxes from the same period. Had one in my 109 mated to a 4.1 Chev straight six and the box was solid despite the extra torque. Have you driven it? Bet the steering is pretty vague :)

    Thanks for the welcome guys. @ justaddmtns, the KM2's have been ideal. They have travelled 30 000kms over every surface (except snow and ice) and will probably last another 40 000kms.
