+1 I have the same with the wire too. However newer ones I have seen have a perforated metal top which holds irregular items better.

Get a good bms to the refrigerator and get a reliable jump starter just in case.

My favorites were always cortech , soft shell but ridged and expandable. Including the tail bag which attached to the saddle bags. Never let me down.
