The Bohemivan ('98 Roadtrek, lifted Chevy 3500 2WD)

I finished up the van by repairing the fresh water system. After trying to repair the original one, I finally had to replace it (with a bigger better one of course). I also added an accumulator and a Nature pure water filter. And we left for our trip to Magdalen islands last Sunday. “Mommy...

Not So Subtle E350 Shuttle - 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

That's weird because I use Google Drive. Anyways... It's the same photos as this Instagram post. I would personally put the sand rails in the center so you can walk on them and put the solar panels to each side.

Not So Subtle E350 Shuttle - 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

You should consider space for 2 x 100w solar panels (about 22" x 4' if I'm not mistaken). They allow me to run a Vitrigo fridge like this indefinitely with 4 x 6V batteries. Not necessarily now, but maybe for later. My set-up.

Why buy a van when you can RENT one!

You do realize this company is in Montreal, Québec, Canada? Might not be that convenient since you seem to come from Nashville. But there are other companies. There's also Outdoorsy which is similar to ARBNB but for RVs.

So what has now become Phase 1 of the upgrades is now complete. The shop ran out of time to finish some details like the rear bumper and storage compartment locks. But it will be usable for the summer. I'm still (IMPATIENTLY o_O) waiting for the alignment to be completed. So here are some more...

The Bohemivan ('98 Roadtrek, lifted Chevy 3500 2WD)

There's a lot of activity going on right now: The roof rack has been installed after powder-coating white. LED clearance lights have been placed all around. Side lights for campsites. I plan on removing the old clearance lights and plugging the holes. There's tons of info on the web but if...

    Perfect platform round 3; '96 E350 Quigley

Since you're working on a budget, I would suggest getting the best 2wd van you can find/afford and start building it in phases. Example: 1 - Buy van 2 - Build functionnal interior 3 - Lift van 4 - Improve interior (after learning from mistakes and/or usage) 5 - Convert to 4x4 Personnaly, I...

The Bohemivan ('98 Roadtrek, lifted Chevy 3500 2WD)

Some small progress. They put 2 blocks for a total of 3.75" in the back but suggested waiting to do the alignment until all the heavy accessories (bumpers, winch, spare) have been installed. I then drove the van back to the commercial truck outfitter. It drove REALLY well even if the direction...

Replace Engine or Move onto Newer Van?

You really need to find out what the issue is before throwing in the towel on this awesome van. Don't jump to conclusions. To the very least to make some money selling it if you move to a newer van!

It works for me too... That being said... awesome pictures! I wish we had mountains like that around here! And it's really cool to see the whole family climbing. Of course, i pointed it out to my wife that your daughter is rock climbing: "If she can do it, so can you!" To which she replied...

What are my best options? Broken leaf spring.

Lots of info in this thread. For the front, I went with taller Moog coil springs (from 81012 to 81008) in the front as I'm not fond of spacers. For the rear, I went with custom leaf springs from Weldtec with a 3" lift adjusted to the weight of my van. I'm sure any good spring shop can have them...

Dodge Grand Caravan Roof Rack Capacity

Well the Jetta had no problem with a 95 lbs Tepui Ayer tent. I was limited to about 65-75 mph on highways mostly because of the wind noise. But I have to admit though that a 185 lbs is a pretty heavy RTT for this scenario. My point was mostly that the weak point is not the vehicle’s roof, it’s...

Dude... he has a Dodge Grand Caravan! A FWD minivan! He’s not going on wild offroad trails! I suggested to buy an aftermarket roof rack bars to support the weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
