    N.A.R.V. 2.0 - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project (I'm back)

This past weekend I installed the lift. SuspensionMaxx MaxxCam2 Key, Skyjacker BUK2061 blocks, Skyjacker H7003 front shocks, Skyjacker H7017 rear shocks. All went pretty well, with the only real issues were a stuck/stripped lug and the frozen/rusted torsion key. As for the torsion adjustment...

Looking for Source - Express/Savanna Nerfbars, Ladder, and Rack

I did confirm, they did build that van and the others that dealer sold. I'm working on getting prices, and will share once I know more. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

Looking for Source - Express/Savanna Nerfbars, Ladder, and Rack

Yep. Digging around their Instagram @ajs4x4vans, I think you nailed it...they (Beaverton Auto Wholesale and AJ's) are only 4 miles from one another. You rock. Time to make some phone calls.

Looking for Source - Express/Savanna Nerfbars, Ladder, and Rack

I know this is a stretch...but I'm at wits end trying to find these. Anyone know where this dealer (Beaverton Auto Wholesale in Aloha, Oregon) is sourcing their nerf bars, ladders, and racks? They look "somewhat" Alumniness-y, but not quite. they have built/sold several vans with these same...

    Express AWD build

Were you able to find the details on the wheels? I had the same Warlords on my Sprinter I just sold...and would like to do them on my Express.

    N.A.R.V. 2.0 - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project (I'm back)

Well...I'm back. Back to the Chevy platform and back to Expedition Portal. In 2014 I bought, then built the original NARV (Not A Rape Van) 1.0. A couple of years ago I sold it to move to a new Sprinter 4x4. I built that out, all vanlife style...then sold it. Having a $100k vehicle sitting...

'Ruby' the big red GMC Savana!

LYlqoY2Fo here (ex-owner/builder of NARV). Loving your build. I sold my express, went to Sprinter route for a couple years (see build here), and I've decided to return the the Chevy platform for my next build (on the hunt now) and beginning to formulate my plan. Question, what is your...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

So...my new project has arrived...a new Sprinter Crew 4x4 (no fun name yet), so NARV is officially up for sale. Listed on the EP For Sale forum at http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/190696-2008-Chevy-Express-1500-AWD-(AKA-N-A-R-V)-5-3L-121k-13-500

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

I did use adhesive and staples. I do not recommend anything but 3M Spray Adhesive; anything else is a waste of money. Carpet is just cheap automotive carpet from a parts store.

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

We never finished the window coverings. We had prototyped and tested some, but the magnets didn't hold on the glass due to the Florida heat. Our original idea was to cut fabric to the shape of the windows and then put neodymium magnets in the hem of the fabric. We would glue matching magnets...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

I've actually considered putting another "ridge" in near the top so I can do the same, and use it low or high. If I did, there would be a portion of the platform that would not be supported on the left side, due to the slope on that built in. Also it would hit my 12v outlets...so those would...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

Easily possible. That is what we do when we want to sleep three. Two on the bed, one on the front bench. The seat mounts in these vans are not the most user friendly, but they are tough. To get the bench moved forward/back, you need to have a little working space to stand without breaking your...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

I did finish the front panel. As I said earlier in the thread, the platform extension was built to be portable so that it could be left in my garage when not needed and/or used in other capacities, other than just a bed. I built it slighly smaller than the width of the other platforms pieces...
