DEFENDERBEAM - I didn't forget about you...I just never think about it when it is light out. BigDan - it is a 5.3, FlexFuel. I'm still on the first tank since the tire/lift/alignment combination, and I'm running SeaFoam through this tank, so the last number is not a good sampling. But here are...

The lift kit (Traxda 404045) is installed. 3" front, 1" rear. It was a breeze to put on, and I'm very happy. I had the torsion bolts set to the original depth with the new keys upon reassembly, but it raised the front too much. I ended up loosing a little to level it out before getting it...

I think you are correct on the size. According to DiscountTireDirect the factory offset is +30mm.

I did fail to mention the offset. I did in my first version of the post that didn't post for some reason. My bad. My goal was a wider stance, so yeah...that cause the rubbing. -6mm offset on the wheels. There is a +25mm that was available too, which would have been closer to factory, and...

Not yet. Just haven't had the time. I've been getting plenty of use of it though this snowboard season. Just last weekend, I was toying with building a removable camp kitchen. I spent a couple days drawing it up, inventorying my plywood, etc., when I walked into Home Depot and found this for...

Help! My van clunks into 2nd gear

Just throwing this out as an FYI. Might be related, might not. From my 2008 Express AWD Manual... Mine shifts hard from 1st to 2nd every morning leaving my house. After a couple minutes, all is good.

I'm (currently) without a welder to put together brackets like you have. It is a good deal....just for the keys, blocks, and front shocks alone. Did it level yours out? What tires did you fit?

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

I'm planning on installing the Traxda key/block lift kit (dirt cheap on Amazon). I'm currently getting a lot of sway/sponge-ness in the van. There are some bargain basement C rated tires on it now. I'm hoping some E rated BFG ATs will tighten it up, but I too will likely be upgrading shocks...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

Finished the back 2/3 of the bed platform today. My goal was to build the platform in such a way that it would function as a passenger, cargo, and camper van. This part of the bed platform meets up with the back of the 2nd bench seat. It is two separate removable pieces, each 50"x24"...

Drilled pilot holes in the metal side supports, then ran sections of metal strapping from the wood to the metal supports. Each side has 3 or 4 straps...and they are not going to budge. After they are mounted, I attached the carpeted false top (with lids, cup holders, etc) to the built in...

    N.A.R.V. - 2008 Chevy Express AWD Project

Finished the first phase of the built-in/bed platform. Started by ripping out all of the lower plastic pieces from the rear. We trimmed one for reuse, and salvaged the insulation from the rest and glued onto the exterior panels. Built the right/passenger side. It includes a 1.1cf sealed...

I just picked up the Thule mounts, with locks, and 65" crossbars for $100 on Craigslist. Works perfectly with my box. Thanks for the advice. Now on to my next project... Bed support/Subwoofer/storage. Here is my sketchup for the right side. I'm planning on have a 3 piece removable platform...

Good info. 5" sounds reasonable. Those can be had pretty cheap on eBay too. Thanks for the info.
