    Pro-4X living at high elevation?

Looking at getting a CPO so will only be a few years old at most. Won’t be doing any engine mods as long as it’s a daily other than maybe filter/exhaust. Also looking at new 2020s since they have the new engine and transmission. Once the new frontier releases I’m curious what the price drops...

    Pro-4X living at high elevation?

Been looking for my next rig as it is time to replace my wife’s old rig I have been driving. We recently moved to Colorado and our house is at about 8800 feet. I have been pretty set on a ZR2 diesel, it checks all my boxes and wouldn’t have an issue with elevation. But they are expensive. Even...

    Imperial Outdoors Xplore XR22

Interesting concept, would be curious to see price. I’ve always wanted to build a trailer with similar concept, but smaller, and incorporate bunk bends somewhere. edit found price online at a dealer, $69k... seems steep but I like the concept and layout. Not sure I would pay that much for one...

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

Yah, most things AEV does though turn out pretty clean in my personal opinion. But usually I don’t want to pay the high price tag. This seems like a fair prices option. Most people seem to be trimming for 33s without the kit that would make it look cleaner.

AEV just dropped their trim kit for ZR2 for 33s, $129

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

Great input! That’s good to know. The biggest downfall of the ZR2 is the towing. But the soft suspension that causes that is also why it is so good off-road. I’m gong to have to start tear driving some trucks to decide!

Colorado Built Boreas AT, XT, MXT Teardrop!

Do you have a timeline on when the XT-12 will be available? And ballpark pricing? First trailer that checks all the boxes for us. never mind, just found the blog post!

@RBSJ looks like a sweet setup!

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

@spectre6000 @AbleGuy that is a great point. Is that an option, or part of a package? Or does it come standard on the diesel ZR2? I didn’t know about it and that’s a huge bonus over the other options.

@Todd n Natalie the micro minnie line is nice! They have a few of the smaller layouts that could work for us. Coming from our camper van even the smaller campers will feel big to us inside! @phsycle that's good to know! I’ll definitely check out the rangers

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

Plan to stay under 4,000 lbs loaded. Currently looking at a trailer that is 2,500 dry, 3,500 loaded weight 16ft long. Don’t want to go over 17ft. We want a full time bed with table, and a bunk, so that’s about as small as I can find. But we are coming from a basic camper van, so if we need to go...

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

I have been looking at all options, diesel is a big bonus. Big thing is we will be living at roughly 8,000ft, I want some sort of turbo, so the ranger would work. Every time we head west on a trip there are high elevation passes to deal with. My old van really struggled even being a 2013 with...

Depends on what you think is big! Population is around 9,000 I believe, I’ll keep my eye out for him!

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

Yes the gladiator is ugly in a good way! I think it looks best with a small lift and 35s.

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

From my research a diesel ZR2 can be had for low 40s. I will be getting the diesel in whatever I get so the manual is out. Gladiator diesel is $4000 markup plus the auto trans is $2000 I believe. Plus they will be sought after and then you run into dealers not willing to play at all. Also note...

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

@Beltfed that situation feels very similar! I ha e had many Jeeps, 2 CJ7s, a YJ, Tj, JK, WJ,XJ. If I was going to tow a rig an older Jeep would be my go to toy, but I can’t afford a tow rig, daily, camper and a nicely built Jeep right now. So a do it all rig is what I am looking for. From what...

@spectre6000 If I got the ZR2 I think I would be happy with 33s. Gladiator would be hard to hold back from going to 35s. The studded tire issue is a great point, we live in eastern Washington now and you can have studs but they are really not needed. I will be making that drive often and we...

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

I definitely plan to test drive both. We had a gladiator sport rental when we went to Yosemite but didn’t get to off-road it at all. I’ve sat in a ZR2 but haven’t driven. I agree the gladiator is long, but it is easier to lift and fit bigger tires. The removable top is cool, but a feature I...

Well you got about a foot on me so I don’t think my height will be a problem! But still leaning ZR2, thanks!

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for you! We are coming from Washington, but have explored the area a little, our house is going up for sale end of the month so it’s coming up quick that we will be down there! I did join that Facebook group as well, I was curious what trails if any that the ZR2...
