2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Any of you taken your Camp-X to Vancouver Island, BC? We're thinking of going next month to escape the Arizona heat. Curious if it gets crowded there in the summer and if there's decent camping available. We will likely take the ferry from Port Angeles WA to Victoria. Thanks

2022 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-FX (Renamed "Alpine" as of 2023 model year)

Sorry I did not see or ask how the spare is deployed. Looks like a ratchet strap keeps it secured. I haven't had to change a flat with the Camp-X mounted on my Ram truck, but I know it wouldn't be as easy as with this FX. These wheels are heavy!

Attended the Expo and looked for Arnold but kept missing him. Wanted to let him know how much we enjoy our Camp-X. We did look around at the Camp-FX mounted on a Ram 2500 single cab gas truck. I liked the external storage, especially the spare tire space. Inside looked very similar to the...

Nice storage ideas. Thanks. Curious if you've installed locks for your Torklift tie-downs.

Wow! Four roof struts per side. Will be out camping all next week and planning to attend the OverlandExpo West in Flagstaff. Looking forward to seeing the new FX in person.

Really nice set up! Yes, David and the folks at Big Sky RV are really good at what they do. We had a great experience there as well.

Thanks for the offer pawleyk! We just got back home from our trip and I saw your post today. We probably drove close by your shop on our way back to Arizona from Trinidad CA. Happy to report everything worked well for us despite lots of snow, cold, heavy rain and wind. Camp-X worked like a...

Thanks for the quick and informative response. I think you're right in that the REDARC was displaying the voltage of the pickup battery on my first truck. I could see that the solar was charging and I was not plugged into shore power. I'm pretty ignorant about the charging system, but I'm...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Maybe some of the forum members can help me out with this issue. I originally bought my Camp-X from Big Sky RV for my Tundra truck. Everything worked great and I noticed the truck was providing power to the camper battery regardless if the truck was running or not. I thought I remember asking...

MisterSmith -- I noticed the driver's side Molle panel was not installed from your earlier pictures. Did you install that later yourself or did Big Sky? Also, if that is a camera just above the rear door? Is it a backup camera from your tailgate connection or a so-called trailer camera that's...

That's a great looking rig, MisterSmith. Is your propane bottle to supplement your Camp-X propane, or do you use it for something else? I'm still not sure how you mounted it cutting aluminum bar stock. I have the molle panels, too, and I'm always looking for good ways to mount tools and...

Thanks chadx. As usual, useful and interesting responses. At least with your brackets you can lock your Torklifts.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

Thanks chadx. I appreciate your clarification. When the dealer (not Big Sky RV) installed my new brackets on my new truck they said if I needed to shorten the rear Torklifts just cut down the threaded rod. Since then I couldn't figure out how doing that would shorten the Torklifts enough, so...

Thanks chadx for the reply. I think I'm missing something. Isn't the length of the silver tube that screws onto the threaded rod the limiting length factor? If you cut the threaded rod shorter, the silver tube's length, threaded all the way up to the handle, will limit how short the Torklift...
