It happens, fortunately not that often and it usually only results in minor damage. I’m no longer with AT, sold my shares in February, I’m not eating and breathing overland 24/7 which I think is healthy. Waiting on the pandemic to come under control before starting a new stage in my life.
Remember that a trailer is a vehicle and has to comply with DOT and NHTSA regulations. The manufactures also have to be registered with the DOT and to produce a VIN need to have registered with the SAE. This makes importing by and individual prohibitive.
i Think you need to look at dual battery charging systems. Basically a unit that senses the charge on the starter and auxiliary battery and then automatically switches the charge from one battery to the other. National Luna makes a good unit, go to equipt1.com to see that unit. BlueSea makes...
Great features. The use of PEX for the plumbing can be problematic if you have an issue in the field And don’t have the tools to fix it. I prefer high quality fast disconnect fittings.
One more note. If your Treg coupler has the option for a hand brake Dexter makes brake drums that work with hand brakes. It’s just a hassle to set up the cable system.
The Treg coupler you have is for surge brakes. The flip over lever is to stop the brakes activating during reversing. You can use the coupler in conjunction with electric brakes and it shouldn’t be an issue. I’d agree it would be better when using with electric brakes to activate the reverse...
You can hammer out the studs and press new metric studs in. You should be able to get replacement studs from NAPA. If you are not comfortable doing that, NAPA may have a machine shop that can do i, or take the hubs to a machine shop to have it done. Or of course give AT a call.
You could run a dual system, hot water on one side for showers etc , then a heat exchanger to heat the glycol for the radiant heat system. I think Espar makes a nice small exchanger.
Well it’s one way of doing it for sure. It will depend on the thickness of the panel, if you are using a thicker panel there maybe some extrusion that you could use to hold the panels together, sometimes extrusion and mechanical fasteners are used. If you are using thin dibond then this is as...
I have experienced similar issues with heater units the common problem to most of them was that the enclosure they were installed in did not have enough ventilation.Once more ventilation was added the issues went away. The last one was resolved by adding a ventilation grill allowing better...
I’d agree with pulling a dedicated line for charging the camper, 10 gauge is standard some people pull 4 gauge for heavy duty and fast charging.
Regarding your original issue, if you know the gauge of the stock wire running to the 7 pin and it’s length you can calculate the resistance of the...
This is the second re-birth of Kimberley Kampers, great trailers but I wonder what the underlying issues are that has caused them to go under twice in the last 15 years or so?
Trailers are imported under DOT and NHTSA regulations, campers can be imported and they are not subject to the same regulation, just regular import taxes.
Both of the subjects you bring up are a sad commentary on the state of affairs for the richest country in the world. That is until you look at where the wealth is concentrated.
