    Fridge Straps?

this set of $18 straps from Amazon worked out really well with my latest slide, ended up only needing 2 of the 4: https://amzn.to/38IjUrL

    Multimeter recommendations

Fluke is the de-facto standard for a quality meter, but there's really no need to spend that much to get a decent meter for typical home usage. i've had an Innova 3340 for several years without any major issues. it has several helpful features for working on vehicles like PWM duty cycle...

Lenovo tablet problems and maybe a Magellan in my future

their website has pretty extensive help: https://www.alpinequest.net/en/help/v2/maps they also have a support forum and the developer is quick to respond to most bug reports and even basic questions: https://www.alpinequest.net/forum/ to see what maps and zoom-levels you have managed to...

    Fridge Slides

i've seen the Dometic, ARB, and Frontrunner in person. ARB is quite solid, the Dometic works just fine but seems a little cheap, the Frontrunner looks and operates very nicely. i don't have any long term experience though on any of them except a friend has the ARB and it's still solid and rattle...

Lenovo tablet problems and maybe a Magellan in my future

i only meant that you need a PC or Mac to operate the MOBAC software which will let you download large maps ahead of time for later use on Android tablets/phones. you don't need a desktop/laptop in your vehicle.

    Jump starter recommendations

regardless of the company, get more capacity than their ads say you need. Antigravity Batteries was sort of the first in the lithium jump-pack market, and they make quality stuff. i have a friend with their XP-10 and he's been very happy with it. i decided to go with another major brand, the...

Lenovo tablet problems and maybe a Magellan in my future

over the past few years i've had 5 different tablets semi-permanently mounted in 3 different Jeeps and before that i used "classic" Garmin GPS units in several rigs. IMO, there is no reason to purchase a dedicated GPS device anymore unless you are using it outdoors all of the time, i.e...

    Captain Texas Anvil JKU build

FYI, the JK lean is certainly a thing... you'll notice it more with a full tank of gas. it's even the first item in the Teraflex FAQ (they say to put a 1/2" spacer on the right rear coil). i'm currently using OME 10mm spacers on both the front & rear on that side (only because someone gave them...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

had that same problem on my XJ that came from Ohio many years ago... both sides snapped the bolts off up inside the unibody when i tried to remove them. i fabbed up a quick solution kinda similar to that JKS product. mine was just a piece of square tube welded between two vertical plates. i...

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

i bought a Dometic CFX-65DZ exactly 2 years ago and it's been great. the unit sits in a custom made slide-out in the rear of my 16 JK Rubicon Unlimited. it takes up almost exactly half of the available cargo area width, and just barely fits length-wise with the rear seats up. the Jeep is my...
