Big canine teeth, like a bull dog. Or maybe an aluminum copy of Mick Jagger's Lips.
With MJ's lips you'd only need to make an upper lip, then paint the whole thing red. So that would be less work overall.
Both would be a great conversation starter on the trail.
There are a lot of great trails a truck can do, the key is to get current info from folks who have recently been there.
And if it can't get through the trail, it can certainly get you to the point where you can park and do some hiking/mtn bike riding. :victory:
I hope you get out there in your...
This kit seems like such a small risk for such a great reward.
I hope it does come to fruition. There will be a lot of very happy Jeepers out there if it does. :)
The best all around reason to run a snorkel?
Get a 20' length of dryer hose, and tape it to the end of the snorkel tube.
At the end of the adventure, use it to vacuum out your rig, then just replace the air filter that would have been replaced anyway.
Two birds, one stone...
The Social interaction is a huge plus to PLB with texting
In my personal opinion from using the Inreach SE, you'd be missing out on the most fun aspect of using an InReach, or Spot with texting ability. The whole "Social" thing.
I've only used the InReach for one major trip. Eight days worth...
Sometimes the truth really does hurt...
One day I look forward to getting out and exploring again. Until then I live vicariously through the exploits of fellow E.P. members.
Great news! Glad to see it back on the road. :)
yeah, pictures, or it never happened...
Funny story on that tool:
I was traveling with an engineer from Japan. We were looking at a design change to a component that would affect belt tension.
He pulls this little Krikit tool out of...
;)
The only one I've personally used came in the repair kit for a high speed commercial door repair.
Was amazed at the abuse it took.
I'm betting a Google or YouTube search would net some good info on this.
No more coolant leak! That's awesome!
Yeah, you really want the correct tension. Premature bearing & belt failure will result from over tightening the belts.
Gates make a little "clicker" device for checking tension. Napa used to sell them. Maybe still do.
Amazon has them as well...
I loved having the display tell me my aired-down pressure was dangerous.
Made me feel like I was rebelling against the system.
I've been reading over on the RV forums in regards to aftermarket TPSM systems, some folks who have systems more than a year old have been running into...
Aluminum is another great material. Thanks to the automotive world, there is now some really excellent aluminum adhesive. Between that and rivets it's easy, and light to work with. No worries about water intrusion either.
I built a 9" raised platform that was strong enough for me and the dog...
Discount Tire Direct has some good deals, and also rebates through this week.
https://www.discounttiredirect.com/
Just ordered up a set of 285/75R 17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W for the truck.
With the rebate it ends up being $200/tire for the 5 tires, versus $221/tire. :)
If I keep finding deals...
With a 60" Hi-lift jack, and the wheel lift adapter, you may find that works very easy to put the spare up on the rack.
Also saves lifting up a muddy mess, or shredded tire by hand.
Hi-Lift Extreme 60" Jack
Hi-Lift Tire Liftmate
Even with 35" tires on stock wheels, this made it easier, but...
I would suggest just start with the compressor. Once you've had a chance to use it for a while, then you'll know if you need a second tank.
Adding a tank increases the complexity, and points of failures. I'm all about keeping things as simple as possible.
yeah, no worries.
Spray penetrating oil in the hose nipples of your air pump. You may get it freed up. As long as the bearings aren't toast, it will continue to work.
Might find a set of take off wheels, and keep your beadlocks for a year or two.
By then you'll have the experience to know what you want.
It would be a costly mistake to sell them now, only to purchase new ones down the road.
If you are single, a set of large wheels/tires with a bit of...
Mo' storage!
There is a really good thread on here somewhere about all kinds of kits, and ways guys have built shelving with fridge slideouts, etc.
So here are a few different ideas for additional storage:
A rack over the spare tire can be very handy, like in the picture below.
Also folks...
