Wow those last pictures looked familiar then I realized you were on the Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route that we did back in August. I stopped at that same bridge and got some good photos.

Thanks!
Every trip just gets harder now. Just finished four days in Moab on some moderate trails with a few tough sections and my body is plum wore out.

Quick story that was based in Wyoming. On the way south on the WYBDR we stopped in the tiny town of Encampment. I asked about buying beer and the clerk pointed across the street to the bar. So over i go. Real quiet and dark in there. So I’m waiting and this young gal walks over behind the bar...
I may have posted that suggestion. But that is what i do for a blood clotting issue. Just cut the foot off. I do get some blood pooling in my feet but its pretty minor. Sure is easier than the full socks.

I carry Maxtrax too but four of them. Usually when you get a 4x4 stuck both axles are in trouble. Got stuck in soft sand on a Baja beach a few years back and used all four and wished i had two more for the trailer.

Boondock camping on clear waters is my kind too. We did find a couple of good spots on the WYBDR but too early in the day to camp.
Looks like you had a nice alternate trip.

I have yet to use mine while traveling. One rainy night i used a simple tarp as its so easy to set up and it was very handy. But i gave it to Curt so now ill be forced to use the Kelty.

Curt, thanks for being my back-seat-driver. Hard to read that small iPhone screen but Curt always corrected my wrong turns. At one point we were discussing great pie and I flew right by one turn with pie on my mind. Also great that Curt really knows Toyotas. I picked his brain for Gen 5 4Runner...
The Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route was pretty darn tough. I have done all or significant parts of the BDRs for NM, CO, MT and ID. None were as hard as WY. The week before we arrived there was a week long Jeepers Jamboree. Maybe it was wet and they damaged the trails. Maybe its all the Razor...
