Replaced bush only as bushes and pins replaced 6 months ago. Been keeping grease up on regular basis and this protected pin.should now last until we get home and can replace all bushes on all springs. Turning streering wheel lined up pin perfectly, which I had though of doing that an hour...
Hi All
Thank you so much for your help (really would have not attempted this without the helpful comment here), I removed the busted bushes and replaced with a couple of spares. Learnt a new trick, when the pin would not go back through the spring, start the engine and turn the wheels...
I have 2 sets as spares, and I only need one set for the fron drivers side hanger. That is the only one affected. I may get a new set sent to one of our next large destinations, but at the moment don't want too much of a delay in Alice.
Thanks for the info on swapping them out Dan. Doesn't sound...
Thanks guys, a little more information, the bushes have done about 10,000km in the last six months. I am guessing no warranty will be available.
Dan is it the type of repair you can do yourself or is the spring likely to be a enormous paid to relive up again.
Heading to Alice Springs soon...
Hi all
I was greasing the front Spring on the canter and notice a thin piece of rubber as shown in photos. A friend suggested it could be the result of too putting to much grease in joint. As I am only 1/4 of the way around Australia, is this something you would fix or leave until home in...
Nice write up Dave, would have to agree with what you have said re tyre pressures. I have not tried the low pressures you have used on the Canning, but it's good to know some one (like yourself) has. Thanks again get well soon mate

Steve
Good stuff Andrew. These trucks will go just about anywhere, with the right tyre setup. Mind you, if you get stuck, who you gonna call?
Where was this lovely stretch of mud and water.
Cheers Steve
Ok my new speedo cable arrived to day and when I was fitting it I found out the mount could be swung back up to protect the cable by simply loosening a lock nut. I know hindsight is 20/20 vision, when the super singles were fitted, the fitter must have turned the angle down to fit the speedo...

The wires themselves are still intact. The wire inside the speedo cable itself has snapped. We think maybe it got snagged up in the mud in some of the mud holes we went through on the Great Central Rd last week. The speedo only stopped working yesterday..so must have been partial broken then...
Hi guys
Have managed to break my speedo cable and looking at it got me thinking. Has anyone changed the angle of the attachment to gear box to point up?
Hope someone can help TIA

Hi All
Have just finished watching the Finke Desert Race for 2016 and we saw this amazing 8x8 with a really cool graphic and I thought I would share. Sadly its not a Mitsubishi, but it is cool. Enjoy!
Cheers

Hi Andrew
We found the Anne Beadell highway much better than expected. Yes a few corrugations, but you work with them. There is more photos etc http://www.4wdaus.com/archive/index.php/jun-2016
Section from emu to wa border was most challenging due to width and height of truck. Corrugations...
