What kind of vehicle are we talking about here?
Was the "4x4 something or other site" CH4x4.com?
You may need to replace the whole panel where the switch needs to be installed...CH4x4 has a bunch of panels for Toyotas.
dirtyparts.com also has lots of switches\switching-related stuff.
Sure, anything is *possible* :)
What is the 100ah battery in the tow vehicle going to be used for? What size is the bank in the trailer?
You want to run the truck to charge the trailer batteries while it's parked? That's unusual...
I've got a pair of 2.5 pound HalGuard H3Rs , one in the truck and one in the trailer.
The one in the truck is mounted with a Bracketeer. It's a really good mount and, at least in my case (Tacoma), keeps the extinguisher out of the way but handy when needed.
The one in the trailer is mounted...
We've had very different experiences then...I've got almost 50k miles on my current set and the only thing I've found that they are *not* particularly good at is deep mud. The same was true of the previous 2 sets of KOs that I had.
It's hard to imagine a tire being around for more than 60 years...
Interesting that it's listed in those Ts&Cs but if you search "KO3" on their site nothing comes up...One might expect that if they had a new tire coming out, especially a new AT T/A, they would be talking about it...
Where did you see that OP? I can't seem to find anything on the interwebs about KO3's? I'm in need of new tires soon and expected to get new KO2's but I might wait if there are new ones coming out....
I've read this regularly too but I have not experienced it. I ran KO2's through several Montana winters and I never had any trouble with them on snow\ice. They always behaved well for me so I'm not sure why they get a bad rap for winter driving....
They are powered.
It doesn't "attach" to the phone physically. The system has 3 components -
1) an outside antenna (what this post is about)
2) an amplifier
3) an inside antenna
The outside antenna picks up the cell signal, the amplifier boosts the signal and the inside antenna then provides...
When you say "charge controller" I'm assuming that you mean the solar charge controller.
As long as the solar controller is rated to handle the output (voltage and amperage) of the generator then it should be fine. It doesn't know (or care) where the current is coming from, i.e. from a solar...
Yes. While a heavier rear spring might make the ride a bit firm when you aren't towing the trailer, it is really the best solution (IMHO).
I pulled my teardrop for around 10k miles with Icon RXT springs on my Tacoma (in about 8 months). They are supposed to be "heavy duty" springs as well but...
Why is it that when anyone recommends Tacoma's they are automatically a "fan boy"...no one says that about any of the folks here recommending the Ford or the Chevy....strange.
Because the suspension is where all of the dynamic forces are concentrated...Bumpers, winches, racks, lights, etc., etc. are all just accessories. Suspension is what separates the rig from the ground. A "fortune" spent on suspension reduces the stress on the whole rest of the rig. Caveat: this...
My Battle Born batteries have given me no trouble at all. I have a pair of heated 100Ah that I used for nearly a year of full-time living. I have never had an issue with them so I've had no need for support but they were excellent pre-purchase with helping me figure out my needs.
I also use a...
I agree that remote reservoir shocks are preferable but user-adjustable shocks go a long way towards the "one size fits all" between loaded and unloaded.
I find it fascinating that so many folks seem to think that the only choice for performance shocks is between King and Fox...Icon is out...
You might want to consider renting a trailer. You can secure the FWC to a trailer more easily than any "temporary" mount in the truck bed and it will mostly eliminate the weight issue. If your current suspension is not already shot, it will be after 1000 miles with the camper in the back.
Just as you have described is how you would attach a strap, looped under the receiver portion and out the opening under the step. Yes, sharpish edges but I don't think sharp enough to do any damage to a proper strap unless you were to use it for off-angle pulls on the regular. For the occasional...
