the brake unit is from a Mitsubishi FK417 fighter, 6 cylinder. When picked up from wreckers we were told to be careful to include about 6 inches of pipe either side of brake. The guys then upgraded the exhaust system from turbo manifold to tail with 3 inch piping. The original actuator...

This tread started in another post, but I though you might like to see the new 3 inch exhaust brake I put in the Canter yesterday. Still too early to quantify improvement but it sounds cool. Old system was 2 1/4 inch and quite rusted. Used old actuator from old brake.

Hi Dan, yeah I wasn't real clear on that post, understand there will be 16% overall increase in all high range gears. When we increasde tyre diameter from the originals to the Toyo 19.5s we gave ourselves a little more legs on the open road, but it had a negative affect of reducing our hill...

Interesting modification. The additional 16% will certainly give you some legs. Possibly the biggest hurdle will be the 16% increase in the difference between 3rd and 4th gear. I look forward to adding your experience.
