I'm currently running my factory lead acid starter battery and a PC1400 odyssey group 25 house battery. I've only had this combo for about a month and would now like to replace my starter battery with another odyssey. However, I've ready many times the batteries should match. Would I be better...
I like it, very similar to something I would build. That being said, I think I would have splurged on a lithium battery in this case to keep the weight down.
The link is above, it's a key-bak, auto retracting key lanyard. It works great, I just have the end zipped to the cables. I really should come up with something more elegant than a zip tie, but it's the best I can do right now.
I wanted to share a project I've been working on for a few weeks. It's not quite finished yet, but it's to a place where I'm comfortable sharing. Things left to do include replacing the starter battery with a group 35 odyssey and getting 4x 50w Renogy Eclipse panels mounted in series to a slide...
@dwh I'm tracking you, thanks for the explanation. I did call Renogy this morning and verify that their 50 W solar panel do only have one bypass diode each. However that still beats their hundred watt panels with 2. Especially since I'm running their 100/30 charge controller. So I canceled my...
Thanks, I found the specs on their 100w panel, it's 2 diodes. However, I haven't found the specs on their 50w panels. I sent them an email, but I'll likely call tomorrow because if they have 2 per 50w I'm going to call and change my order. I am running the Victron 100/30 unit, I wanted plenty of...
I'm in the process of setting up 200w on the roof rack of my 4R and am currently waiting on the 100w Renogy Eclipse panels to come back in stock so my backorder will ship. These panels will be on a slide out under my roof rack, it will slide out using a linear actuator when the engine is turned...
Cool build, but aren't you worried about stuff getting caught in the drawer holes as you bounce around? Wouldn't be able to pull the drawers out if something lodged in two holes.
Really nice build. I like your sliding work top, very nice design. I also like how you mounted your dual slides. I'm assuming you tapped the aluminum, screwed in one slide then attached the other slide with a nut on the same bolt. Does this sound like what you did? Also is that just bondo...
Glad to hear it's working well. You got a hell of a deal on the panels! I'll have to check my rack when it comes it but I think it'll be tall enough on the 4Runner because the rack clears the shark fin antenna.
Any updates on how the system is working for you? I just ordered my frontrunner rack and all the solar parts except the panels. I want the renogy eclipse panels and they are sold out everywhere.
SHARKTANK works at Northridge4x4, removes $900 from the total! 5,099 for the one with tires and wheels. I'll have to call and see if I can order the no wheels/tires model for the same discount. I've done LOTS of business with NR4x4 over the years, I bet they will.
Well, you guys talked me into installing last night. No it wasn't hard, but now the engine compartment is a little more cluttered with wire loom... I do like that I know when it is open or closed, the LEDs are nice.
Did everyone use the Start Isolation? I wired it up, but don't love the button...
