    2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2

You cant really get anything right now. Standard F150’s/Tundras/silverados get markups so this thing sure will. But thats also why I said, “Maybe they will produce these in mass quantities” meaning they might actually be available enough some day to where we dont have to pay msrp or more.

    2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2

Here is what I don't love about it: 1. It comes with 3.23 axle ratios. I know, I know, the 10 speed. If I am wanting to move to larger tires, trying to turn them with a .63:1 10th gear and 3.23 axle's is gunna be insane. Especially at elevation. 2. While I am not positive, I think this will...

    2023 GMC Canyon AT4X

I am keeping a close eye on this one. ZR2 suspension and lockers with a 2.7L turbo making 310 hp and 430 torque. https://tfltruck.com/2022/04/news-the-all-new-2023-gmc-canyon-at4x-is-coming-here-is-everything-we-know/ As long as they don't price this thing ridiculously high like the Siverado...

    2022 Ford Ranger

With the modern crawl control and traction control, a helical basically becomes a locker. Toyota A-Trac and helicals are like bread and butter.

Full Size - Small Diesels: why so unpopular?

I agree on the 99% thing. But the gassers dont have DPF's and Urea and all the other goodies. So they are likely more immune to short tripping and not getting up to temperature. The ecoboost is not totally immune to it either but its as simple as just changing the oil more often if you do short...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

The 2.7 is hard to pass up. Its only a $1200 option over the base 3.3 and offers significantly more torque and a decent amount more power. For truck stuff like towing, 2.7 is an easy choice. Also, towing an 8000 lb trailer with the 3.3L would suck. My 301hp/330tq Lexus GX struggles with my 5500...

    2022 Ford Ranger

Yeah, my F150 only has 10 cup holders. Def not enough for 5 passengers [emoji23]

    2022 Ford Ranger

The F150 Tremor and Raptor have helical LSD’s in the front and the Superduty Tremor has some kind of LSD, not sure it is helical. Id much rather the Helical LSD with the F150’s 4Auto t-case.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Fun fact, the 1st gen 3.5L Ecoboost exhaust manifolds fit the 3.7L Cyclone motor. People with 3.7L Mustangs have used the Ecoboost mani's to turbo their cars. Its also probably why the 1st gen 3.5 manifolds have a tendency to warp.

Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

Agree'd. I actually just went and looked and all of the F150's and Rangers locally were at or slightly above MSRP. XL 4x4 crew cab to XL 4x4 crew cab was about an $8000 difference with the 2.7L in the F150. When I bought my F150 in 2015 I got around 22% off of MSRP without trying too hard.

    Bison Diesel is GONE...

The 2.7 Turbo is going to make the dmax colorado look like a turd and will probably be close in the MPG department with the 10 speed. The same motor with an 8 speed in the current Silverado is not THAT far off of the 2,8L Colorado on fuelly.com considering its a full sized truck. The current...

I see a ton of Colorado ZR2 builds around here. And Taco's like you said.

Full Size - Small Diesels: why so unpopular?

My buddy is one of the guys who hates his Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel. His is bone stock and has had the EGR cooler fail twice causing the engine to overheat. And this guy is a diesel nut. He literally runs his own business building turbo upgrades for Colorado Duramax's and has built compound...

Full Size - Small Diesels: why so unpopular?

The reason those trucks do run 500,000-750,000 miles is probably BECAUSE they are hot-shot trucks, not in spite of it. They are getting worked, their DPF's are nice and toasty, they can regen without interruption, and their oil stays hot and can burn off contaminants. I bet its the guys who use...

2021 Ford F250 Tremor Adventure Rig

I have a TRX4 Sport kit that I built and can tell you thing is basically bulletproof and very capable. Its taken some serious falls and totally shrugs it off. I am building my trailking with smaller 4.19” tires. The TRX4 is on 4.7” tires and its almost too good. If you dont find some pretty...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

3.5’s, absolutely, they have had issues.Thats why i said i think your are the only person ive heard say their 2.7 sucked. Tell your neighbor to make sure his coolant system is properly bled. Ive heard a lot of people with that issue and its a result of air pockets in the cooling system and they...

Why don't we see more Ford Ranger builds

Tiny fuel tank and the fact that a 2.7L F150 can get close to the same MPG’s while offering more power, torque, space and can have a 36 gallon tank.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I am not sure I have heard anyone straight up say their F150 2.7 sucked besides you. I have seen some people frustrated about oil pan leaks, but besides that they seem very solid.

Full Size - Small Diesels: why so unpopular?

Payload was a big component. I test drove a Ram Bighorn Ecodiesel that had 1200 lbs of payload. It was a pretty low option truck. Higher end trims can be under 1000 lbs and I have seen a payload sticker for a Limited EcoD that was ~850. The other issue is range. While the diesels get better...
