    Ford 150 3.5L Ecoboost vs Ram 1500 3.0 Ecodiesel?

It’s astounding. Apparently its a Borg Warner design? The weird thing is the 5.0 and 2.7 dont seem to have phaser issues.

    Ford 150 3.5L Ecoboost vs Ram 1500 3.0 Ecodiesel?

The first gen 3.5 was 2011-2016. There was some minor changes during that time. In 2013 they got larger turbos, although the power rating stayed the same. Some of the issues with the 1st gen: -Timing chain stretch. Ford used one long chain for both cylinder banks so it was more susceptible to...

2021 F150 Towing Capacity Increase on some models

Im guessing this system isn’t particularly accurate and is only guesstimating based on the angle of the truck. I seriously doubt they have ride height sensors on all 4 corners that actually measure how much the truck squats There was a company that made a little dash mounted computer that used...

    Ford 150 3.5L Ecoboost vs Ram 1500 3.0 Ecodiesel?

Are you looking brand new, as in 2021's? I don't know about the reliability of the current EcoDiesel(3rd Gen) but the last gen(2nd Gen) was not great. I personally would not wanna own a 2nd gen and would be hesitant to own the 3rd gen until we see how they hold up. The Ecodiesel will get...

    Ranger - pros/cons considering maintenance/reliability

I have a 2014 F150 Ecoboost and I tow a 5500 lb full width travel trailer. In ideal conditions I can get ~10 to 10.5mpg at 65 - 70mph. In horrific conditions(30 mph headwind for 9 hours straight at 65-70 mph trying to keep pace with 18 wheels on i-80 in Wyoming) I got 6.7 mpg. Weight really...

In search of new adventure vehicle for family of 4 and a couple of pups.

Everything is high right now. It is not a great time to buy new or used. Dealers don't have great new inventory, so they arn't dealing, and the used market is inflated because the new market is.

    Lexus GX 460 & 470 owner's thread

285/70r17’s on 4Runner TRD OR wheels. I went with these wheels because they gave me the least offset while still clearing the UCA’s. I only had to do some work to the fender liners with a heat gun. No trimming. Stock suspension.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Corvettes overheat like its their job. There was a massive debacle over the C7 overheating on the track. The air dams are def not for style. Half the people on the F150 forum rip them off the second they get home.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

I disagree. While the front clips help with MPG, the main reason for the air dam and tall vertical grilles is cooling. How are you supposed to cool 400+hp motors that can tow 12,13, or 14000 lb trailers? Chevy even said the reason the Colorado ZR2 has a lower tow rating that the regular...

    Swaybars

I ran my F150 a while with no front sway and it rode better. I would not wanna tow like that but it works well for smoothing out the pot holes in the grocery store parking lot.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

Made a similar comment on the GXOR group yesterday. The engineers in the Toyota truck division must have a lot of free time on their hands. Adding power seats to the Tacoma in 2020 didn’t exactly shake things up.

Thinking of a locking diff for my 2wd, talk me into/out of it

I am another Truetrac fan if your truck is really meant for daily driver duty and mild/medium offroading. The key benefit is that they are always on, there is no slack, no response time, it just hooks and goes. Doesn't matter if you are on pavement or dirt or whatever. This is a result of it...

    Which truck

The prices are insane right now. Just the other day I was searching 2013-2014 Lariats with ~90k just to see what my truck might be worth and they are listing them for $25-29k. A 7-8 year old truck in the high 20's :ROFLMAO: I was adamant about lightly used when I was truck shopping back in...

    Gassers: Ram 3500 6.4L vs Ford's F350's 6.2 and 7.3 Godzilla for overlanding

I get that. But what I am saying is that there is no reason to think that gasoline cannot be put in a diesel tank. The tanks are likely the same exact material and construction. IE, put gasoline in a Titan tank that claims to only be for diesel.

    New Bronco

Same here. This is why I have a Lexus GX460. Still BOF and solid rear axle but has a 6500 lb tow rating. Its too bad the Bronco is not closer to the ranger. The 2.7 will pull extremely well.

    Gassers: Ram 3500 6.4L vs Ford's F350's 6.2 and 7.3 Godzilla for overlanding

I was gunna ask about this. I can't see why there would be a physical difference in the gas vs diesel tanks. I bet the difference is in the required crash and fire testing that they are put through. I have been to SWRI Fire Tech lab for my work and that is one of the things they do there. They...

    Thinking about Trailbalzer

My dad has a Saab 9-7x Aero which is a rebadged Trailblazer SS with the 6.0L LS2. Its a raging pile of crap. Im pretty sure he has replaced most of that truck at this point. Front diff blew, trans had to be rebuilt, steering rack has failed multiple times. Etc. But, its an animal. I always...

    ZR2 vs Gladiator Sport S

Not to rain on the parade, but I think that a full size travel trailer might be a bit tough with the 2.8L. The 4000 lbs is not the issue, its the aero drag that gets you, especially if you start poking around in Utah, WY, ID, etc where you can be at high elevation with crazy winds. I don't say...

rCI skid plates and hidden winch for f150

It should work if you got the Fullrace or Cobb intercooler that high mounts behind the grille. How does that Exo mount attach? Do you remove the OEM hooks and bolt on there? My truck would no longer fit my garage if I did that so would have to take it on and off as needed.

1/2 Ton vs 3/4 Ton for Family Adventures?

I think this is something you should revisit. I was in the same mind set when I originally started shopping for trucks, but unless you plan on buying a truck that is much older or higher miles, I think you will find that the new prices are pretty appealing. I bought a brand new 2014 F150 4x4...
