    Which EV would you buy?

Well then, that is settled. And the country size map is not really relevant if you put it that way. I don't go overlanding in Netherlands, it would be outside Europe before I call it overlanding. What remains is how much you are spending on the base vehicle. If most people are using second hand...

    Which EV would you buy?

Yeah but really, what is your daily mileage in US or Canada when not on holiday / overlanding? My EV can do 250 miles. I don't think most people, regardless of the country they live in, need more. Only a few need that. And you forget to say that half of the US doesnt need a 4x4, because no...

    Which EV would you buy?

Well, an electric car is so cheap to run it should hopefully make the difference. But yeah, you have dirt cheap fuel over there. That is the problem. A litre of petrol costs 1.50 Euro over here. Most US trucks over here run on gas, you know actual gas like LPG. That and tax causes a small car...

    Which EV would you buy?

Even if that F150 runs on electricity it is still a stupid idea to drive a truck when you don't need one. Regardless of how a vehicle is powered, a truck will always use double the amount of anything Prius like (in terms of shape and weight) You can see it already, a Tesla model 3 will do 150...

    Which EV would you buy?

Here in Europe, people use Teslas to drive at least 1000km to a Ski resort in winter. It works fine. The only issue is that the amount of superchargers did not grow as fast as the amount of sold Teslas, and all the people are going the same weekend. So there was a queue. Heating is less of an...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

Ok nice. Nice products for the Cayenne. I live in Europe, I'm always a bit jealous of the whole tail hitch receiver thing. We just have the tail hitch, not the square receiver. And the receiver is very versatile, it is so easy to buy a wheel carrier for it and stuff like that. Hardly any need to...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

Looks great! Do you have any specs on the cars? I would be interested to know what tire sizes they are running and if they needed to delete the bumpers because of the wheels. I see no full size spare wheels? Are they mostly in the back? The one below seems to have lots of space behind the...

JDM Truck and Van Resources (Hiace, Liteace, Townace, Toyoace, etc)

I have no idea, but I don't think it will be an issue if you can find some roof rails. Those weights are not that impressive, not for a van. There are at least two, but possible three wheel bases. Due to sitting on the engine, you get a lot of space in the back compared to the length of the car.

Oh yeah, no cv axles or anything, what was I thinking haha

JDM Truck and Van Resources (Hiace, Liteace, Townace, Toyoace, etc)

Well, check Wikipedia for the engine options, usually 4 cilinder diesel or petrol. Please note that there is also the Granvia or Grand Hiace, which can come with the 3.4 v6 that also comes in the 4runner, so easier to service. They have a Euro body type and lots of seats and all. Expect all of...

    GM to build Nikola Badger

I don't always understand these collabarations, just like Ford and Rivian, when those big automakers already have some experience with electric vehicles. They know how to make 4x4s. They also know how to make electric cars. The Chevy Bolt is a good electric car, the battery system works well...

This is the picture of the earlier ad. I think this must be the rear difflock option on a 955?

    Which EV would you buy?

As many people I am also looking at the new electric 4x4s. However, they are not here yet, and will take even longer and be more expensive to reach us in Europe. Right now we bought a (slightly used) Chevy Bolt (our European equivelant) which is a great car with a 250 mile range, fun to drive...

Thanks, those links give some extra tips to identify. Especially the fuses are a good one I think, when asked remotely. The one I told about is probably sold already. And the original rear tyre carrier was broken at the latch. But it may have been interesting if it was the offroad one with all...

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

Do you guys know if a 2004 model 955 Cayenne, Turbo V8, came with the rear tyre carrier and the rock slider steps, it is likeley one of those versions with the offroad goodies sich as PDCC and rear diff lock? I'm guessing I need to physically go there and check for the rear difflock. Pretty high...

Leveling a camper for a propane fridge

Ha, I didnt know these propane fridges were so annoying. Get a dc compressor fridge, and run it with a small solar battery setup. Never have I needed to check the fridge, refill any gas canister, or be afraid of whatever angle the van is parked in. We never level anything. Just park it like it...

    Trailer go BOOM BOOM

This is why I distrust propane appliances. It is not like electrical devices cant burn, but they at least do not build up gas. Fortunately nobody got hurt, and you did not lose everything!

    Recirculating Showers?

I am a bit busy now, but in general, it is the same as in the Youtube video. Only the heating is electrical. And I want to throw away the water after every shower. The big question is how fast the filters are clogged. It will take a while before I find out.

    Polluting vehicle restrictions in Europe

Yes, I live in Amsterdam. I can investigate cars and export them if you want, I've done that before as a service. Although it is not my daily job. But I thought there was this big unimog trader in the south of the country, anyway, you have a truck now. Back on topic, diesels are typically more...
