Yes, just remove the screws from the inside, pop the window out, put in a new gasket, and it should be good to go. Check the “weep” holes on the bottom to make sure they are not clogged. Water also can get in around the back hatch and tailgate. I had mine water tight, and things have shifted so...
Off topic, but it is strange but true that people tend to exaggerate their MPG, especially if its a vehicle that is supposed to get good gas mileage. It’s not just VW that’s telling falsehoods. LOL
Did Canada get the Hilux? There’s an article floating around that walks you through going up to Canada to get a turbo diesel landcruiser, what to look for, avoiding rust, fees at the border, etc...
A friend of mine shared this on Facebook, and I thought of your thread. It was designed initially to carry the bikes, covered and secured and then they expanded it. Food for thought. https://www.hitchhotel.com/
A friend of mine races all over and she set up her van or bought her van through https://www.vandoit.com/go. They have some cool setups for keeping the bike inside and living around it. It’s a van, but it might give you some ideas. Here’s one pic from their site.
At the end of the day, you are going to pay close to $40K or over $40K for a nicely equipped or top of the line Tacoma/Colorado/Ranger, so get what gives you a stifffy. My 03 Tacoma is still my “new” truck to me, and I hope to have it around for many years to come.
I have a SLO and I have the original. We got the max number of windows so we could see out when needed. I don’t regret getting the windows. Sealing the seams was a project I handed off to my wife. She did a great job, and we have had no issues in several torrential downpours. If you want an...
I don’t think you can get the bikes inside and still do any type of build up of the interior. I have a Flippac on an 03 Tacoma with the 5’ bed and we are using every bit of space for storage. For the bikes, I went with a Saris tire mounted carrier. It’s a tray style mount, so you don’t have to...
I have a had a setup on my 03 DC Tacoma for 7 years. I like the fact that they are a “set it and forget it” mod. I don’t have to turn them on, maintain them, or check for leaks. I am using these in conjunction with AP expo springs, and they work great.
I guess I have been out of the game. I thought the majority of kits for 1st gen Tacomas were under 3” unless you do some type of bracket lift which I don’t see on the road or off the road as much.
My wife is the same, no accent, but same comments. I have great photos of me going down Black Bear because she walked behind the rig for most of it. Not spotting, just scared. As for a 4runner going at it, it should be no issue. Just be smart. I went with my wife and dogs, and just self...
Decided not to work again, so I opened it up again. After tinkering with the temp sensor where it plugs in, it fired right up. I’m still not convinced that was the fix, but I tightened up the connections and buttoned it back up. Its working on AC as it should. I’ll try DC tomorrow.
For now, my fridge is working. The compressor and fan were not coming on powered by DC or AC. Temp display was working. I opened up the back checked every connection, plugged it back in, it works. I think it might have been the fan connection, but not 100%. I’ll keep checking it until my trip.
My policy does cover extra items. The Flippac, armor, gears, etc...but I would be lucky if combined they would pay me that much. I’ll have to tag that sale!
You should get into the Flippac refurb business. For the interior, I did what most did with a U shaped series of cabinets with the fridge at the front, by the tailgate, toilet in the back, and action packers in the middle.
