Attack of the new mini vans

Metris seat reviews have made it seem that they will be very utilitarian past the first row. As far as new "minivans" go- the GM U body minivans were of the same width and length as these new "mini" minivans, as these new minivans are euro sized (just like the gm U body). Dodge Caravan: 78.6...

Most popular stove's used in Overlanding

I got one from the 70's and the 90's. Both are very good, does not seem to be wildly cheaper or anything. But the butane one is my go to for the most part. I run all sorts of camp stoves from the 5 dollar jammies, to the MSR reactor. When I travel, I'll often take the 5 dollar jammie, the 3...

    Question for you Subaru owners

btw, I had a forester and an legacy outback, and test drove the XV- its a great vehicle, and its easy to chase down the miles. They even have under body skids for it, and I've gone though places you would think these subaru's shouldnt. However, the impreza is a compact vehicle. A fridge is a big...

    Question for you Subaru owners

The cross trek is already a lifted impreza. However if you intend on loading up the rear and the top, the 1" spacers are pretty good for the purpose, but then again so are sumo coil springs. I just ordered a set for my van, we'll see what happens. You also have this...

PVC sleeping platform in a 2010 Xterra X

Slicker if you filled the pipes with water and tapped it as a water supply. Also to make it stronger, you have to use gussets to distribute weight over the pipe. Not necessary in your case, but you could have definitely sized down. The other thing is, what about the space below? Any plans or...

Simple trick to get more space in the cooler AND more variety with your food.

cut a sheet of reflectix or foam board that fits inside of the cooler. As your food gets eaten, this layer moves down with it. It reduces the melt rate by having to keep a smaller volume cool.

    No name awnings

How do you stake down if your not on dirt? I was thinking of running a 45 degree guy line down down to the truck wheels so that it would prevent lift up.

    No name awnings

Hows it holding up? Im thinking about getting this, as it would cost me about 70-100 bucks already just in parts- not including my labor.

    Vacuum Sealer.

only a few models have lifetime warranty. It is one of the two reasons why I got the gamesaver. The other reason is that it is 12V capable, which gives you field vacuum capability.

    Snow Peak Addiction

Beautiful? Yes Compact? Not really, when you consider their fire pit plus grill is considerably smaller packed. Functional? I'd agree there, though an option to have a small detent so that I could flip it over so I can use the grate to prevent food from rolling off would be nice. the...

    Favorite cooler under $100

If you get the extreme, make sure its the larger one. The smaller extreme's are only like 2-3 day ice units. It fit my needs perfectly, and will use it instead of a fridge on quick day trips. Just much lighter.

    Day trip food storage

The easy solution is just to put everything in a plastic bag, inside the box. Lol. Its what I would do, doesn't change the look and feel of anything, but keeps items dust free.
