For lighting wiring I find it best to tap at the trailer wiring harness as it can be easily replaced. Sometimes you can even get a kit that would give you a 2nd trailer connector port and ti plugs in with factory connectors between the harness and your exisitng port and then you can do your...
Does anyone know where i can find aluminum t track similar to what is used for the pace edwards explorer series bed rails. https://www.amazon.com/Pace-Edwards-BE5084-Explorer-Rails/dp/B0018JEYLI I just need something flat on teh bottom so i can mount it to a truck bed cover and use it as a...
Sweet bed cover. I've got their ATV carrying one on my long bed Ram. My whynter 65 qt fridge is too tall to put on a slide though as it just barely fits under the cover sitting right on the bed floor. But it does fit in the back seat are of ym ram when i fold out the load floor. This is the...
when i bought mine a month or so ago it cost a bunch more than that, but the important thing is that the refurbs by amazon come with a full warranty. the only thing you can't do with the refurb is buy the addon extended warranty. When I received the unit i couldn't tell it from a brand new one.
there is a similar product to that spectre intake it is called Macs Cold Air Intake. It is a very nicely built kit put together here in the good ole U S of A. a google search should yield some info on it.
go above the rail, i did it on my ram right after i bought her and have never regretted it. No issues with putting any type of covering on the bed whether it was a hard camper cap or the current retractable hard cover that is on it now. I have line-x on mine but i know the rhino has a bit more...
I've got a setup from LOD as well, although currently no basket or can holders. I do really like the tire carrier though, well built here in america and a good price too. It's nice to call a company and talk to a real person on the phone who can answer any questions and such. Had a front...
I'm also looking to build 1 for myself as well to fit my 03 Ram with the 8ft bed. I want to make it so it mounts on top of the explorer series rails for my pace edwards rolling bedcover. This way when i want to go truck camping or if i need more weather resistant space to haul something in i...
Plenty of room in an XJ. I had a cb mounted to the console on the tranny hump, and the ham rig was a remote face unit where i mounted the remote face up on the dash conveniently and he body under the back seat. Antenna mounts were permanent types through the roof.
Best of luck to you.

I'd recommend the mounts that bolt in between the tail light and the tub. I used those on my previous wrangler and they worked awesome. Ham on 1 side and CB on the other. Unfortunately i can't use them on my current wrangler since i have a roof rack whose mounting gets in the way.
I've got my mv-50 hooked up on a 2.5 gal tank with a pressure switch, it works great, but had to get some serious high temp hose to go from the compressor to the tank as cheap stuff failed under the heat. I really should rebuild it with some metal tubing to dissipate heat.
i've found high output chargers designed to feed even an ipad on ebay for a few dollars a piece, they plug in the cigarette lighter socket and have dual ports. 1 Port is high current for the ipad 2.1 amps i think, and the other is standard output.
Definitely figure the layout of a future rack upgrade into your plan and place the nmo accordingly, and yeah you know better on that tuned out of the box bs. It's usable out of the box, but will be better with tuning. When people do go box's if they do them correct they either use a mag mount...
A good cell charger will put out 1a-2a depending on model. if you get one that is just a usb socket designed to charge an ipad it will put out at least 1.5a. that is what i sue for charging my htc evo especially when using it for tethering. It's just my personal recommendation based on...
Congrats on the license (K2ZMB here) i had an 89 cherokee and I occasionally used my roofrack so i just permanent mounted and NMO towards the rear of the roof and had zero issues with the roof rack interfering. Like any other install try and find a local ham who can help and teach you how to...
Yes the car chargers only have power and ground, i was saying to splice the power and ground from the car charger into the usb extension lead and leave the data lines intact to run to the hub. The reason for this is that a usb hub should only give a max of 500ma which is generally much less...
this is the unit i have from harbor freight http://www.harborfreight.com/15-amp-three-stage-onboard-battery-charger-maintainer-99857.html
i also have installed 1 in a friends mustang that is rarely driven and it has saved him alot of grief as well.
so far i see 1 stumbling block, the gps puck won't be "shareble" via the hub. Either get a separate 1 for just aprs use (they are reasonably cheap anyways) or on a windows computer use a gps splitting program such as XPort to split the incoming gps on the computer and share it out to multiple...
