Looks like you should probably work on both your reading comprehension, and not being a giant **************.

Looking for a flatbed cabover shell with cargo access

Good info, thanks, I had never heard of them before.

Seeking input -- upcoming vehicle purchase

That attitude is why they stopped making real SUV's. And, just because you can doesn't mean that you should. They're clearly not built to withstand any kind of abuse.

It would probably be more capable if it was built on an actual minivan chassis.

Trucks with well over 4000# payload...

I see where you're going with that, but we're talking about probably 12k+ lbs of vehicle. Even IF the weight difference between the 6.2 and 7.3 were actually substantial, I'd be shocked if the handling difference between the two were even perceptible, especially by the time the truck is loaded.

    That's not a truck, that's a minivan with a bed.

    Is my steering box bad?

As I noted: "Your goal is to remove MOST of the extra play on center while not affecting the overall stiffness and return to center." In fairness, I'm really not sure how you can precisely regulate it to 1/16 of a turn. My point was, turn it a small amount and then drive it. There should still...

    Is my steering box bad?

I know this is way late, but in case anyone else stumbles on this: After you've checked everything else and confirmed that it's tight, adjusting the box is totally straightforward. There is a point at which the slop can no longer be adjusted out, but until that point, it's completely proper to...

"CHUCK" 1998 Chevy Suburban K2500 Build

This is obviously an old post, but for anyone that reads this: You can't just generically assert that cranking the torsion bars will kill ride quality and ball joints. It all just depends on the bars and keys in place, as it relates to the weight of front end. You have to look at the...

Looking for a flatbed cabover shell with cargo access

It looks like they make good stuff. I'd be willing to cave on the hard-side requirement if they had a big cargo access from the rear.

Looking for a flatbed cabover shell with cargo access

I've been looking at that angle too, but it's a bit ridiculous what some of these companies want to do that sort of thing.

Thanks. For an off the shelf solution, Space Kap is really pretty spot on.

Looking for a flatbed cabover shell with cargo access

Long time lurker, maybe someone can point me in the right direction... I don't really want a "camper" as I usually see them. I just want a big shell that I can heat, put stuff in, and sleep in. Ideally, I'm kind of looking for a hard-side, flatbed version of the Project M. A big opening for...

Get my 7.3 Ford Excursion Unstuck...

Also, your bouncing would be solved by a good pair of shocks. You may also need springs, but unless there's some major sagging involved, you can probably do them whenever. Sent from my XT1064 using Tapatalk

Get my 7.3 Ford Excursion Unstuck...

Especially for slick roads, I'm always going to vote limited slip in the rear, something like a true trac, and selectable locker in the front is nice for more extreme situations. Actual lockers make it way too easy to break both rear tires lose and exacerbate any traction problems on the road...
