Check some prices on the interwebs right now you can get a new loaded “old-design” 2018 PW for $40-45K do you really need another 2 gears in the tranny an extra 100-something lbs of payload and towing and the chance to pay another $2K for a ginormous touch screen in the center console?
I thought the same thing until I see an article like this discussing all the effort to make the cooling work to get the tow ratings they did with the V6. Seems like if they were just going to throw a Hemi in it eventually they could have saved on the engineering costs of making the Pentastar...
@threplogle Now that you got her cleaned up we can see that all that happened is your girl got some stretch marks on her! It also looks from this angle that the gap between the metal band and the shell to the right of that screw is a little bigger and less uniform than the left.
My dad is a recently retired FCA engineer who they now contract several times a year to come essentially do his old job at plants during changeovers including the recent ones for the Toledo North and South plants. He said that Jeep engineering department did the work and were all for offering a...
This hits it on the head the problem with coatings like this can boil down to things as simple as the climate control in the area it was applied or allowed to cure.
@Kevin108 if he says it is just dirt why try to play overland inspector? It would not really make sense for someone who had a collision involving their tent to put it out there like that and those are stress cracks you get the same thing in plasterwork in houses.
I think that is dirt on the surface from where the cracks are running from it looks more like the screw securing that metal band was overtorqued or the band itself is out of square.
Also @vintageracer I impressed with your lists of Mopar expedition vehicles especillay the B Van sportsmibile.
Whoa easier there guy! What do you think we are chatting on some Walkie-talkies! I thought we aren’t doing abbreviations here? If you are going to be carrying around a tent make sure you have at least 4-6 Rotapax hanging off your JK at all times especially when daily driving and you are going...
NoU, lets be best friends and pick out tacticool accessories for each other’s vehicles off of eBay, AliExpress! Whoever, finds the product with the worst google translated item description and poorly photoshopped pictures wins.
Maybe this a thing thing Navy JROTC or the civil air patrol, but I not where I ever was. The only kind of showers we would be on the recieiving end of would be of the figurative golden variety courtesy of the good idea fairies at the Battalion command level and above. We just got so used it it...
As it is fairly likely that you entered this world with a coat hanger in your ear, I will take your word for it!
Do you consider having the ATF raid your meth-lab as “working with”?
This is actually the incorrect, the right answer was, ”what you've just said is one of the most insanely...
@Landlocked @DUTCH

SIX months after being placed into liquidation, Ballina-based business Kimberley Kampers has new owners who plan to "breathe life into the company"...
@jacobconroy I am a two war combat vet who has had multiple TBIs, if you can’t follow maybe forget about it and just go see how a different window in your mom’s basement tastes. But since I always enjoy interactions with the left side of the bell shaped curve, let me break it down Barney-style...
I will endorse and expound on what these 3 gents are saying. From my perspective the “I resent people trying to come enjoy the thing I am passionate about, talk about all the time and advocate for since they are doing it wrong” resembles statements in pop culture such as “I liked XYZ band so...
If your primary use for a 3/4 ton is going to be hauling your truck camper, you would probably be better off capability and money wise going with one of non-power Wagon 2500s. You could even do the self-leveling air bag suspension on the rear. Otherwise you could just sell the in bed camper...
@MrOffshore I can appreciate the effect that making the Discoverer had when interspersed on your production line with smaller single axle trailers. But seeing as I am in the same camp with guys saying things like this:
Anyway you would ever consider an additional prepaid production of these...
Your rear bottom door setup kind of reminds me of a vehicle I spent a lot of time (probably too much). It had a rear fold up step with a cable release. But also had an integrated seat when it was closed, which Imthought might be a nice addition for when yours with the similar amount of space.
