Sounds good! Part of the reason I am moving is to have NFA items. IL does not allow anything that requires a tax stamp (Unless you have a Class 7 SOT FFL obviously) so I am looking forward to that. I would really like to do one of those 18” SASS builds like yours.

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

Except for the Toyota 4Runner and Landcruiser (I would add Hi-lux) everyone forgot those... I will say I have personally beat the ******** out of Toyota vehicles in some of the roughest places on earth and they hold up well, even when you pack about 16 Afghans into the bed.

@Tex68w those are nice! They actually have a full retail location for Brick Arms near me where I live now I think you and I should become best friends when I move to TX this summer from IL. Sadly all of my real firearms collection was lost in a tragic boat sinking accident, which the new AWB...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

Wasn’t the Durango a Ram frame? Similar to the Tahoe and Silverado of the same period. Either way, that would be cool if they did that. But I think the days of BoF SUVs are long gone. Man I wish they had been based off the 1500 brother, Mopar fans have been asking for that literally forever...

Agree with this I was not going for PWs, Ram Rebels or new Expedition Promaster builds when I was in my 20s (which honestly I was deployed for a large part of) , though at that time lowered street performance trucks like the Ram SRT, Ford Lighting, etc were more popular which I was never in to...

Chrysler must have been busy working on other high power off-road vehicles during that time... https://www.allpar.com/history/military/M1-tanks.html Can we all just agree that America has been blessed with a unique and wonderful history of great off-road full-size trucks and be thankful we did...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

If you live in a cold climate, be weary of anything with air suspension. Regardless of make or model. It has been between -10 and 10 degrees where I live this week and this the 3rd winter I have had the truck never had a problem.

2nd on this ⬆️ PW has had the title since the 1940s going to take a little more than a V6 twin turbo gas engine and aluminum foil body panels to get it done. Get that crap outta here this is Murica! You need a big boy gas V8 (since the OEMs don’t like putting diesels into vehicles designed with...

    Back to a Big Truck

Yeh especially when they bolted on the RACK kits or other armor the winch was ********. There is a reason all vehicles overseas usually had recovery straps hooked up and zip tied to the vehicle. I know of at least one time on my first tour in Iraq that one of these that was almost empty slipped...

    2019 Ram

Yes there will be when HD truck production moves from Saltillo, Mexico to Warren Truck (which is making the Ram 1500 classic now). Of course that may be changing when FCA announces new production plans in the next week or so...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

I think the Ram 1500s with the air bagged suspension and V8 would be okay with that weight I know mine has been. The problem with these arguments are the same ones you have when discussing Dual Sport or Adventure bikes, it really comes down to your definition of “off-raid” and reality of the...

Eating crow....2018 Ram Power Wagon build

If Ram gets smart they will just take the new 1500 and switch that bed out and just make it a big BoF SUV, like they did in the late 90s making the 2nd Gen Dakota into the 1st Gen Durango (sounds like it may be happening but under Jeep nameplate at Warren). Doing that might be a pretty good use...

    USA Market 4x4 Vans Rant

Sorry to ressurect this thread, but I was thinking why couldn’t some 4x4 shop in the U.S. do something similar to the Dangel Fiat Ducato conversion (links provided for reference)? I understand it might be costly but I would certainly be down to commission a build if a company wanted to take it...
