SOLD! Yaseu FT 7900 Dual Band Ham

Too many radios, selling a couple. This is an excellent dual band radio. Very light use. What you see in the pic is what you get (plus the manual). Will sell for $200 shipped ConUs. New they go for $330 on Amazon. All you need is a power / ground and antenna and you are good to go!

    TYT Ham Radio 440mhz Version

Bought this from Amazon a couple of months back, I wanted the 2m version (146 mhz), they shipped me the 70cm (440 mhz) model. It came with a crushed inline fuse holder and fuse- cut them out. No big deal I thought, as it has a redundant inline fuse on the power line. Hooked everything up and...

    265 70 17 Tires- Great Shape

These were on my FJC when I bought it a few months ago. No name tires, but they have alot of tread, are quiet and seem to be pretty decent quality. Any reasonable offer from a local buyer will be considered, need these out of my garage. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/pts/5119045969.html

    Old YJ versus new Rubi

Both guys look like they need to spend a little more time in the gym and a little less time at the ice cream counter.

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Factory invoice on a 2015 JKUR with the most popular options (per Truecar) is 39k, with TTL, if you can buy right at dealer cost, you are looking at $41 to 42k in most places. Reasonably modded, you are looking at low to mid 50's. Can you buy a cheaper model and make it work? Sure, you bet...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

They really do hold their value quite well. That's the most positive statement I can make for my now departed 2012 JKUR. The OTD price on a reasonably well equipped new JKUR is 45k though, with tax. Even if you get a "deal" that still puts you in the low 40's OTD. Start modding it and you...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Ouch. It was definitely NOT putting a smile on my face any more, so it was time to sell. Fortunately, I bought it at a very good price used, drove it for 2 years and sold it (with full disclosure) for 2k less than I pad for it. Not bad. I am convinced that I got a bad one. But then so did...

Which way to the Grand Canyon?

Mike, There is camping allowed there for a small fee, did it a few years back. IIRC the no see ums are pretty bad down there though!

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

What did I do to my Expo Jeep today? I sold it. Got tired of the endless electrical, rear end issues, some fixed under warranty, others not. Loved my 2002 Wrangler. The 2012 JK? Not so much. I am not a brand basher, but I will be hard pressed to buy another Jeep now. Back to a Toyota for me.

Just purchased a baofeng, do I really need a license?

Maybe not the conclusion that some of us wanted non-Hamers to reach. I use my radio only for trail communications. On a typical trip, most in my crew have a Baofeng now (few of any have a license and I could care less). I like having the ore powerful mobile unit so I can talk to everyone and...

Just purchased a baofeng, do I really need a license?

Entertaining thread. I got my license a few months back. Took the test from a club in the valley, I showed up for the meeting, was respectful, waited until the end. I am 52 and was the youngest there by far. I got the hard sell to join their club, politely declined, as I have all my teeth...

    Damaged by the Dusy

Great trip report, thanks! Having run most (Rubicon excepted) of the harder trails in the West, I would put the Dusy and Fordyce up there at the top. I ran it in a TJ, 33's and ARB lockers a few years ago. Would not want to have had anything longer or any smaller tires. I'd love to go back...

    Super Budget Expedition Vehicle?

I am looking at Suzuki Sidekicks. Owners are telling me that they get 25+ mpg. Typical "worn out" mileage is about 200,000. A 1st gen one can be bought for less than 5k easily, many are around 3k locally, with 100k to 150k mileage. Lotta bang for your buck.

    Suzuki Sidekick/ Chevy Tracker

Looking to buy one and leave it at my vacation place in Utah. Anyone here own one? Experiences, good and bad? Alot of them have high miles, but the big rv owners used them as toads.
