How’s this for my master plan.
1. I install a battery isolator.
2. I run a wire from the isolator to one of the ends of the pickup bed. Meaning the end closest to the rear passenger seat.
3. At the rear left pillar I install a flush mount female Anderson plug.
4. I install a flush mount...
Well my master plan is going up in smoke.
I did not know that the 12 V charging cable is currently unavailable.
That’s sucks you would think that would be a very common item.
I could go the inverter route but that is just adding another layer of complexity.

Hi
It’s going to be riding around the back of my pickup. I don’t have a tonneau yet.
So I thought I’d protect it for the time being by putting it in a case.

Hi
I’m transporting my Yeti 400, non-lithium, in a foam lined Pelican type case.
If I drilled a 12v outlet on the outside of the case and wired it to a 12v to the Yeti could I charge it while driving with the case closed?
Thanks

Really looking for a way to buy the Deck Truck Storage System cheaper.
Looks really good but can’t justify the cost.

That likely won’t work.
The issue is the stud heads are somewhat embed into a recessed into the back of the recovery hooks.
And then everything is bolted and sandwiched against the frame l.
I’m not sure if a protruding bolt head would have space between the recovery bar and the frame.
But...
Hi
Good catch.
I didn’t realize that until after I got home.
Unfortunately those studs only come in packs of three and they’re actually mounted to a left / right backing plate.
It’s going to cost around $30 to get the two studs.

What about the scenario where you’re driving down a country road late at night, faster than you should, in Northern Ontario in the middle of a snowstorm and you hit a patch of black ice and start spinning end yo end down the road eventually ending up in a ditch.
With four tires sitting on top...
The instructions say they are light duty tow hooks.
The ‘light duty’ part concerned me and I was wondering if the 1.5 weight rating is sufficient.
I’m just doing some light off-roading.
