Hi All, just wanted to report back; fridge is running fine on LP. Buddy has lit it 2x on LP just to be sure. Beer is cold and we are ready for road trip!
Tx again, Bill
Found some good info http://vanagon.com/info/articles/refrigerator/Lighting_the_Dometic_182.html
He followed this exactly last night and it seems to be running well all day today!
Thanx All
Yes...blew out the lines. Some rust/dust came out...not too much. I can feel air passing thru the line.
How would you light pilit with match without pulling fridge?
I could find no access...
Followed instructions and repeated many times...
Tx, Bill
Doing some research for my Bud who picked up an 83 VW.
Dometic fridge.
Piezo sparks, pilot won't light.
Blew out lines.
Stove works fine. Fridge works on 110v, not lp.
Have to assume if there is sufficient pressure for stove that fridge should light?
Ideas/things to check?
Tx, Bill
Let me clarify; platforms w/straps (maybe this is a called a "cage" by some Folks...?). Not the old-school rat traps that locked you in. I find that a good aggressive platform with a strap loose enough to slide your shoe in is a great combo that accommodates all kinds of shoes (yes...even...
I am a grab/go rider also. I ride pretty much every day to work (bike path) and ride some dub/single track weekends. I ride just about every day year-round. My compromise; rat traps.
Ride with any shoe, some push/pull advantages, and keeps your feet on the pedals when the going is "bumpy"...
The passive heaters (wave) are one option...as noted.
But running the Honda while awake is another idea, that's what we do. We have 2 Gr 27 AGM's ...after skiing, while cooking dinner/hanging I 'll run the genny for power and to recharge batts. When we are ready to sleep I shut the genny down...
Yeah...don't feel bad about the cut/run. We have done same when the weather won't cooperate. That is the beauty of having a camper...very easy to change plans on the fly whether it is changing destinations, taking a different route...or as you found, bailing out and going home.
You made the...
GVWR...what's that?
Weigh your truck loaded/unloaded.
Check your axle ratings.
Get appropriate tires/wheels.
Get Supersprings.
Have fun...
You are not breaking any new ground here.
Bill
Thanx shocker (I have been following you thread...) I scored a set of 16 x 7 OEM steel wheels yesterday and will swap the 265 to these right away. Would love to put 285 on them before next winter...but as noted the 285 specify a 7.5" min wheel width...but there is no such creature in a GM OEM...
Yeah...I think the taller profile might make for more flex in the sidewall...not good for heavy loads.
What other 3 ply E rated tires are there?
Who has the stiffest sidewalls?
Tx, Bill
Well, I called Cooper today and asked their suggestion...and it made sense to me. They explained with a slide in camper (high COG) a tire with a wider footprint would be better than a narrow foot print for the same load index.
The ST MAXX is a commerical traction MS tire (which is what I like to...
