Ham Question: SAR guys what are you using?

I just took the tech test today and passed it after two Weeks studying. Are you on a budget for your radio? I like the 8800 for a starter radio. Eventually I want something with aprs in it though. The 8800 if I remember right can take your handheld signal and boost it. Acting like a repeater...

    Front License Plate Placement

i like the springloaded hinge idea with a clip at the bottom. swing the plate down and it clips in over the fairleed then when you need the winch, flip the clip and up goes the plate out of your way.

Best Winter tire for LT on 15" Rims : edited with suggestions

the bfg all terrain tires have given me amazing traction in the snow, ice, etc. they are sipped very well and are very grippy on the snow and ice. the tread holds a little bit of the snow which gives it better traction in the slippery conditions.

awesome build man... i drive a 98 durango 5.2 and love it... you ever thought about putting fiberglass fenders on the front? glassworks makes some that give you 3 more inches of wheel well and 4.5 more inches of coverage... gives the front end a nice look too
