I carry a valve stem torque wrench and a compressor for just that purpose. Went from 50 PSI down to 33 but might have to go down further still.
For sand I go down to 15 or 20 but that feels pretty lucy goosey at any speed.
Slowing down is so very hard to do when you have such a long distance to...
Are you planning on driving many miles of dirt road? I will probably put one in for next year but I have done without for years now. You just have to go slower.
Did 50 miles of Baja dirt road yesterday , and my power steering boiled over.
I have noticed since I got it that it starts to whine after only a few miles of washboard.
Anyone else dealing with this? What are my options?
Yes I feel bad about pushing her so hard.
I have only ever seen two express vans with sliders on both sides
I prefer cargo vans like mine with no windows even in the doors, way better to put in a window where you need it instead of designing around whats already there
I found mine with a sour trans and payed accordingly. I had it...
I spend a lot of time in the baja and I can tell you that AWD is a HUGE deal down there.
Yes its true that its not nearly enough for rock crawling and you can never really offroad a camper without all your crap flying around, but it sure gets you past a lot of obstacles that would stop a...
In my opinion , 18s are too big for an awd rig that is meant to do some offroad use.
The short sidewall makes for a very stiff ride on washboard roads and you are unable to air down for a larger footprint which increases traction and allows you to float over sandy areas
Mexico is not nearly as dangerous as it sounds , especially Baja.
That trailer however , is it bit more than your 4l60e is comfortable towing. Remember , the towing capacity of our vans would be fantastic except for the weak tranny. It will do it , but it will shorten the life considerably.
Ok, put in the new 5100s and they are awesome! Just took the van offroad and the difference is amazing.
Of course when I took the old ones off the were so worn out they were not even shocks anymore. I have nothing to compare to but my van feels like fantastic now
How do you like them? Are they too stiff? Ever take them on a washboard road?
I have run the original shocks with the crappy little extenders from the kit and they are pretty hammered by now
Yeah , I was able to do about 2 inches with the stock a arms but my alignment guy said the camber was maxed out.
I have heard those shocks are very stiff . I wonder how they will do on washboard.
