Hey gang,
I was talking to my buddy while installing my insulation this past week about my suspension lift (torsion key and shocks). I mentioned the stock control arms/ball joints could be a weak link when it comes to the upgrades that are common for these vans. He suggested I look into Cognito parts, well I used Rockauto for my parts reference and was pleasantly suprised by the options they had for lifted applications. Cognito had pretty parts, but at a performance shop price of $570/pr. The options on Rockauto have single control arms from $30-$180 that offer +2 degress if camber or adjustable +/-3 degrees of camber/caster.
I am prepping a new set of wheels and shopping for rubber. If I can get better geometry from new control arms, it could save the tires some odd wear, right? Maybe even ride better, I dunno just thinking.
I haven't seen anyone mention using different control arms. Did I miss a thread?
