I was referring more to the locations where you took your pictures. I was wondering if 4x4 was necessary to get to them. They didn't look too bad but i wasn't sure what you had to traverse just to get there.
Nice trip. My family and I just got back from a week on the road. Maryland (home) ---> Georgia (Cleveland) ----> Tennessee(Chattanooga & Memphis) ----> Louisiana (New Orleans) ----> back to Maryland. My 5, my brother plus his 3 kids, my sister's 2 kids, and our 2 dogs. Already planning next...
How did you know your 2WD would be ok on this trail? I have a E350 2WD and would love to hit a trail like this. Problem is I'm scared I'll get in over my head. I'd follow your lead on this one but I'm in Maryland ? might have to add a trip to UT to our schedule next year. Does this specific...
I have a factory ford limited slip. Is it worth it to upgrade? I was in Vermont in January and drove through some snow but nothing crazy, fluffy, or fresh. I suspect my use would be similar to the OP
Thank you. Can't wait to really put it to use. The beach in Assateague require 4x4 as do the outer banks i believe. I'm not even familiar with other beaches I can drive on and I definitely won't be the one to just try one i come across. That will most certainly not end well! Based on what i've...

It's a 2WD with LSD but I'd like to make it a little more capable to leave the pavement. Nothing crazy but just something to venture a bit. I'd really like to do some beach driving but it doesn't look like that's possible without having 4x4.
This was us loaded up in...
Nice pics and videos. I've wanted to do this for some time now but didn't have the right vehicle. I just convinced my wife to get a Jeep Compass since it has 4x4 as opposed to something that was AWD. I know it's not a true 4x4 but do you think it will do fine driving on the beach?
Got it. Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking for pics while I look for seats. There definitely wouldn't be room for recliners but a basic captain's chair might work and would suffice anyway.
good evening,
i stumbled on this site while seeing if captain's chairs were available for my 2006 e350. I've spent the last hour looking through this thread and wow, thanks for all the info! Now, i have a question which i don't think has been directly asked/answered.......the rear brackets...
