I had a nice 4 day weekend this August long weekend to try out the new truck on some bush trails in NW Ontario and took full advantage of the chance! I could not fit the canoe over the light bar that was finally installed by the dealer. This was a factory option package included in the price but...
Awesome pictures as always! I really love that trail for the view and need to return in my new truck. The Xterra Pro4x went for a swim and did not survive, so I now have a Colorado ZR2 as a replacement and am starting the build.
This looks deeper now!?
I do a lot of smaller 9 day trip at 6-7000km each year and want to expand on that, both in distance and mileage. It would be great with all the creature comforts too for the weekend exploring. :) This truck will allow for a lot more options when the camper is installed. If I was going to live...
If you re-attach the rubber buttons/pads to the metal sub-frame it should work without scuffing the bottom of the seats. Easy to try and you can always re-install the plastic if its not a success. The metal sub frame is key to supporting the seats not the plastic shroud.
Thanks! The rear seat area will be a storage spot for select gear and allow for weight to be moved forward in the truck vs the back axle. I have a few too many hobbies and gear space was always an issue. Will be trying to turn the rear box into a living area with a fridge, microwave, inverter...
Did run to the sand hills too and tried for compression braking and dual locker fun. A bit of flex in the back end too. Lots of chatter from the rear axle hopping in deep sand hill climbs :(. Tires were digging hard core (not aired out).
That little feature is going to get me in trouble as...
So had some help with removing the seatbelts and extras from the back of the truck and installing the shock skid plates and iPad mount and also have a new dash mount for the camera. Just need to cover the bolts along the back floor area and I am ready! Did take it out for a day tour to test some...
Thanks, going to be a fun ride!
I don't think it would be possible to split the seating as the plastic molding and sub-frame for the seat are as one for the whole width...
Well the rear seats are out and it gives me a huge amount of space! :) Also installed screen in the rear windows similar to the old Xterra. Just need to figure out what to do with all the space now, Lol. Also installing the skid plates this weekend as the paint is drying as I type...
Anyone...
That would be a much roomier choice than the little midsize cab! I hope to have a few great stories soon.
Thanks, wont be long before more posts ;)
Congrats on the diesel! :) I am already gearing up to remove the rear leather seats and will also remove the light bar and lights when the...
Just got my new 2018 Colorado ZR2 and had to share! I am new to the midsize forum but have been traveling in the 4x4 areas for quite a while. Last vehicle was a Xterra Pro4x and the plans for this new one include a Vagabond Drifter for a camping set up and I will mount my Keewaydin 15 Packboat...
The power puller has its own snatch block and its very rare that I would need to build a system to double that with an extra line and snatch block (I have both) ;)
Stories with the new truck over here -...
Thanks for the Warrior Winch idea. I had never even considered a "short drum" option for weight savings. Will look into it. Warn has always been a top choice for me due to their reliability, so I never really looked at other options. What model number are you using and has it been a solid...
No worries, I will measure off a buddies new Toyota 4dr pickup to figure out the rise over the cab. I am hoping to get under the 7' mark in total overall height with the Drifter mounted. Will try sort out some type of QD mount to run Thule square bars on the L- track so I can disconnect them...
