Thanks, I was very happy with my adjuster and he explained everything in detail with how they arrived at the price. This was my fault as per MPI and I am going to have to cover the deductible and demerits.
Glad you could enjoy the trip reports! Lots of great trails to be found just north of...
I just signed the papers and my Xterra Pro4x is officially dead now :(
I am going with the gas ZR2 to have a common fuel source to my buddies trucks. I am hopefully on a new set of wheels by end of the week and will start a new thread to launch the start of the ZR2 adventures in the domestic...
Thanks for the measurements as I will be getting my new ZR2 on Thursday!!! Cheers.
Phil is already looking into the shipping options for me too! Going to be a good week. :)
Great to see it can survive the abuse in the real world! I wonder if the Bundutec BunduAwn Awning would be close as far as quality goes? A much larger unit but still of similar design.
Well, I put a request in for shipping cost for a new Vegabond Drifter. Time to get in line for an awesome new camper. :) Does anyone have a tape measure that could tell me how high the top edge is over the center of the cab? (highest point of the curved area between driver and passenger) This is...
Thanks, it is tough losing my expedition vehicle but I am just happy I got home with the gear and my feet intact. MPI will have locked out the VIN from being registered again so hopefully no one has to deal with the electrical gremlins. Still some great drivetrain parts for salvage but i don't...
I carry a fair bit of recovery gear as I am far enough away that being self reliant is required most of the time (got lucky this time finding a rescue)
3x recovery straps (20' and two 30' 2" 20,000lb straps)
Power Puller with extra handle and extension
8' tree strap (3" static strap)
22' of...
The crossing was below the body going north but I must have broken through a very thin top layer of sand and found the swamp mud underneath as the return trip was totally different. Started sinking in the loose muck and when the tires started hunting for traction I was already much deeper in...
This is great news for those of us that winter camp in the cooler weather. Thanks to eatSleepWoof for asking the question. My worst was -45c in a tent, I do not want a repeat of that long weekend! On the Drifter is the side metal panel strong enough to direct mount 4 MaxTrax using their...
And this is where my 4 day weekend took a turn for the worse. Best part was I had covered approx. 126km from the last gas station and had seen no one on the logging roads for the whole time I was exploring. Middle of nowhere! Tried to drive north on an old road that had grown in and crossed the...
Thanks, I just like the idea that the Vegabond allows for the length of a canoe on top while the camper is in use. I am sold on this one! Drifter for the win!!!
Reminds me of memories from wet days long ago..Sorry for the pictures of pictures but this was before the digital age, Lol
I'll try update with the new story tomorrow! Stay tuned for more wet "fun".... ;)
Now on to some of the 2018 adventures and mods…
Starting my lastest mod for a Camp deck to have a fold out bed behind the driver’s seat as my rear seat was starting to sag when folded down flat…
Spring time remnants of snow along Lake Winnipeg
Stuck a long way back from the nearest tree...
Ok another big picture dump from the last bit of 2017, trying to catch up to share in some new stories, Lol I am so out of date with this, sorry guys!
Just a cool shot with the patched up canoe while out on a trip with a work bud using this as a staging area for some canoe fun.
Then a big...
The ability to carry a canoe on top of the Vegabond Drifter is what sold me on the design over all the others. Great having it extend far enough forward to have the sleep area access but the side benefit of this is that the canoe will not contact the windshields top edge during the late night...
Thank you to all for the feedback on this. Sounds like the limiting factor is the panel being to small for the charger (DeWalt listed at 12V @6.0amps or 72 Watts for the imput) Might have been a better idea if I was using a 100W panel but that is way to big for the solo canoe use. I guess I can...
