    fly for tent

Adding a tarp to a complex shape like that won't be very successful. when you are really going to want a fly...wind and rain and cold...that flat tarp will pop and jump. Leads to wet inside the tent. Without a fitted fly all you have is insect protection. It sure doesn't take much to Google...

An alternative to expensive Mountain House foods for camping

Years ago I bought this book: Supermarket Backpacker by Harriett Barker Its out of print I think but easy to find via used book stores. Lots of great ideas and hints about getting off the shelf food that is cheaper than produced for backpacking meals. Tom

Add some clever tent-work to the wings and you'd have a great shelter! It would be easy to zip on the tent part. Tom

Portable jump starter and air compressor

They will reinflate...but do the math..the whole compressor in those things, motor and head, will fit in your palm. They may build up pressure but the CFM would barely oxygenate a minnow bucket.

Your pics of the roll off bed are enticing me to get back into doing treework. Having a truck for work and play was really nice. Tax deductible too. Are you saying that those box units only weigh 600#?! Toys aren't deductible, tools are! Tom

Portable jump starter and air compressor

If the battery is charged. My experience with those kits is that the battery doesn't last very long. The compressor is about the same size as an aquarium pump...hardly enough to air up a tire...unless you have lots of time. Check Costco or your local auto parts store. Be sure to buy one that...
