Right, but I though the internal storage (i.e. inside the sleeping cabin) is pretty similar between the Boreas and OGT (we were talking about this on another thread). The internal dimensions are almost exactly the same, so there's only so much possibility.
Sorry for all the questions. I have...
Thanks @DRAX, that's good info! I agree, I didn't like the door on the 2021 model. I'm in line for a 2022 right now (have a deposit down and can get it all back except $500 if I change my mind and go with an OFG instead).
With the Pando, it looks like the fridge in the galley area is really...
Thank for all of that info! Has anyone compared Off Grid with the Boreas XT? I’m deciding between one of those two. On another thread someone mentioned that the OGT Expo has more storage space, but storage won’t be an issue for me as I’ll be towing with a full size pickup.
I've been thinking about this too. My goal is to have no issues in the shoulder seasons when nights may dip below freezing but days are above freezing. I'm not looking for a solution that would be fully 4-season.
I've had similar thoughts about installing a drain valve at the lowest point...
OK thanks, that's where I was getting confused. I wasn't sure if you were talking about interior storage only (within the sleeping cabin only), or total storage of all compartment and boxes on the units.
I was just looking at that online. It seems like the inner dimensions are almost exactly the same.
Here's what Off Grid gives for the Expedition 2.0 interior dimensions: 46 1/8" H x 80" L X 56 5/8" W
Here's the Boreas XT: 45" H x 79" L x 57" W
So they're almost identical, except for maybe an...
Thanks for that info. I wish I could see one in person. If I get the chance, I'll post some pics here of the interiors of both models from their websites.
OBI Deller looks like a great option, as well as some of the others folks have mentioned above. I don't think the Airstream Basecamp would do well on extended rough roads - at least I wouldn't want one for that purpose.
I know this isn't really your question, but I've been looking into this a lot and I think the limit would be the trailer itself. Regardless of the power your truck has, your trailer will get beat to hell if you're towing it any distance on rough dirt roads. And it would be a really unpleasant...
Thanks for the info, I decided to go with a small trailer instead. I agree, if I go the truck camper route, I'd be way happier upgrading to an F350 with a Hallmark. I just don't want to buy a new/used truck right now.
I'm looking at photos of the Expedition 2.0 on the Off Grid Trailer website. It doesn't look like it has any more or less storage than the Boreas XT. Especially on the inside of the cabin. They look very similar. As far as external storage goes, the Expedition 2.0 loses a lot of storage in...
Thanks for the info, I'm curious why you think the Expedition 2.0 is better suited to long term use. I have been looking at both trailers (same as the OP) and I'm looking for something for long term use (several months). The two trailers seemed pretty similar to me, and I went with the Boreas...
Thanks for replying, yes I'm probably a little off. I'm going by what I remember when talking to the guys at Boreas. I guess the short version is that they started off using Timbren suspension and moved to Cruisemaster. I can't remember all the reasons why, but I do know that alignment was...
I'm in a similar boat as the OP and I recently put down a deposit on a Boreas XT. I don't know a lot about the two different types of suspension, but one thing that appealed to me about the Cruisemaster is that it doesn't have to be re-aligned. Apparently they were using Timbren suspension...
The San Juans are the best mountains in Colorado. I think the Elk Range is a close second. I'm not really an off-roader/trail climber, but I know there are 4x4 trails around Crested Butte, and that's a beautiful area (Elk Range is between Crested Butte and Aspen, more or less). Look at...
