Taking a chance on an old truck

You got it Pard! My calendar is all blacked out from the 17th to the 30th! My 28-year-old daughter's birthday is on the 24th.........I've missed most of her birthdays because of deer season, but she says it's OK if I bring home venison!

I just need to boil water for coffee, what stove?

Esbit Stove This is what I use for heating water for instant coffee in the morning. One tablet will easily get 16oz. of water to the boiling point (or at least way too hot to drink). In fact, I've even used it to scramble eggs in a small aluminum skillet. Simple, compact, and cheap!

Just picked up a '77 J10 Shortbed a few months ago........ 401, TH400, QuadraTrac, 33" BFG ATs, with the older Rhino grille. Needs some work, but at least I can drive it while I work on it!

What do you use for a truck gun?

I've always preferred lever guns......specifically Model 94 Winchesters. This is the one I usually keep behind the seats.......I acquired it a half-dozen years ago...... 20" barrel........ .32 Winchester Special........ made in 1947. I think it spent most of it's life sitting in the back of a...

    Tipi vs Tent

Range Tent Just another option for you to look at: http://www.cowboycamp.net/range_tents.php I've been very satisfied with my range tents from David for several years. Easy set-up/take-down. They are canvas, so the weight and bulk is probably more than the ones you posted above. I don't have a...

    Storage options with dogs

My 14-year old Aussie "Taggart" either lays on top of the sleeping platform, or sits in the passenger seat with his front paws on the dash. He enjoys the journey just as much, or more, than I do! In this photo he's saying "C'mon.......lets get goin'!"

    Tents, Trailers and Dogs

Katt- I have a 75# Australian Shepard that travels with me alone. We can both sleep in the back of my Bronco, but if we're staying for a couple of days, I'll set up my Range tent from David Ellis Canvas. I've slept in the tent in 0*F and been comfortable (dogs put out a lot of BTUs!). David...

    Anyone tried Nu-Ice yet?

I've been using Nu-Ice packs for about six months now. I put all my water bottles in a big soft cooler with a few packs, and the water stays cool to drink for several days with no mess. I also freeze hamburgers, brats, and lunch meat before the trip and put them in the basket in my ice chest...
