8' truck camper, no cab over

Glad to hear that there were some made, maybe I'll stumble across one sometime. I understand the point about aerodynamics so it makes sense that they weren't popular, except in a pop up version. For me it wouldn't be a problem because the garage in front would solve that issue. So, as an...

    Mitsubishi Delica

I've got a '96 Delica Space Gear 4x4 that I will happily sell to anyone! Come and get it! Here in Peru, they import used vehicles from Japan and then convert them to left hand drive. They also changed the sliding door to the right. Mine has been a hunk of junk. It may have 4x4 with a low range...

    Alcohol stoves?

I have used homemade soda can alcohol stoves for years, including for 5 months hiking the Pacific Coast Trail from Mexico to Canada. I've used them as high as 18,000 feet mountain climbing in Peru, and in below freezing temps, so don't let anyone tell you that you can't use them in low temps or...

8' truck camper, no cab over

Hi Toy Runner, What is a 1x1 camper? I've drawn up some plans myself, but would like to see your's. I don't have many exact figures for costs being I'm here in Peru, but my rough guess/estimate comes up to $3400 for a 7 1/2 x 9 foot camper, with a 4 foot motorcycle garage in front of it. That...

8' truck camper, no cab over

I was sure I had seen one somewhere, it was the Alaskan camper. I really don't want a 'pop up', even with hard sides like those. Also looking for something used and cheap, although I did find that a fellow Expo member sold an old one here earlier this year. Alaskan also has a used one for sale...

    Truck camper for flatbed

Just saw this while looking for truck campers, not sure if it has been posted here before or not. It is a truck camper factory made for a flatbed truck. I know some do it as special orders, but this is a regular production model. http://www.northstarcampers.com/Escape_Pod.asp

8' truck camper, no cab over

Does, or did, anyone make a truck camper, without a cab over bed. I'm trying to find a basic 8' to 9' truck camper (not just a shell) that has a bed (bunks OK), table, stove top, small fridge, no bathroom, stand up room (not a pop up). Does such a thing exist? Thanks, Vic

Spare tires for dual wheel campers

I have never owned a truck with dual wheels and had thought the front wheels were different than the back ones. I was just looking at photos of Carl Hunter's camper and realized that I probably made a wrong assumption. Are all the wheels the same? Thanks, Vic

Spare tires for dual wheel campers

After have two flat tires on my last trip to Cotahuasi (about 125 Km of rough gravel road, up to 15,000 feet elevation), I have been giving a bit more thought to spares! What do you do use with a truck like a Fuso FG or an Isuzu NPR? Do you normally carry two separate spares or trust that you...

4 days and 200 miles of Utah Trail

Great photos of an amazing place, thanks! Unfortunately my proposed camper build (camping trailer on an Isuzu NPR) will never be able to do that, I guess I'm going to have to get a Samurai to pull behind it! Vic

    Underbody truck tool boxes

Does anyone have a good source for reasonably priced, good tool boxes to mount under the box or bed of a truck? I'm looking to mount a camping trailer on an Isuzu NPR, like Carl Hunter's FG/Bigfoot camper, and am looking for storage boxes to mount under it? This is the best deal I have found...

New FORD TRANSIT CONNECT - cool delivery van

Thread interruption #2 Yes, opinions can differ greatly. We had a Previa, '91 if I remember right, and I really liked it. Drove it from California to Minnesota a couple of times, thought it was very stable and easy to drive. Unfortunately my ex got it in the divorce settlement. The only thing I...

    Isuzu NPR Camper

The motorhome will be my only home, I will be living in it full time. I think a truck camper would be too small for that, which is why I want to use an 18' or 19' trailer. $10,000 to $12,000 sounds about right, which should be doable either way, not including the solar/battery upgrade.

    Isuzu NPR Camper

Ahhh, reality bites sometimes. After spending many weeks planning, drawing, researching, and getting advice, I've finally decided that it will be too expensive for me to build a motorhome from scratch on a truck chassis. It's way over budget already, and I'm sure once I started would find that...

    Refrigerator Question?

I've been trying to figure out some way to solve the refrigerator problem without using propane too. Just found this thread on the Sprinter forum, looks like it has a lot of information - there are 11 pages, haven't read them all yet. http://sprinter-source.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5723 Vic...
