    Towing a Suzuki Samurai

Thanks everyone for your comments, sounds like a Samurai is the way to go. I don't have my motorhome yet so will get that first before I start looking for a Sami. One more question. Do you need to do anything with the steering? Does it just track on its own or what?

    Towing a Suzuki Samurai

Thanks for the info, Mike and Brian. I really know nothing about them except that they are small and I assume pretty light. There are about 3 of them here in the village where I live in Peru, and it dawned on me the other day they should make a good vehicle to tow. Not too worried about the...

    Towing a Suzuki Samurai

I'm wondering about towing a Samurai behind a expo motorhome. Looking for something smaller and lighter than my CRV, as well as something that will get me farther out into the boonies (in the U.S. only). Is it possible to tow one with all four wheels on the ground, or best to use a tow dolly...

    Men's underwear

:iagree:, these are great. They are normally $7 each, bought a bunch at the 2 for $7 price. They are Life brand, by Jockey. I use them for hiking, running, swimming trunks..., there are a couple of different styles and materials. I think they do run a little small, I use a size larger than normal.

The $15,000 Expedition Vehicle: How would you build it?

My $10,000 semi-expo rig was an Izusu NPR (only 2 wheel drive) for $5000 and build a camper on the back for another $5000. I have spend a couple of weeks planning and searching for parts and materials via the Internet and I am currently at over $18,000 and haven't gotten to all the 'little'...

Manual or Auto...THAT is the question.

I have always liked to shift, so am biased I suppose but I hate automatics. My Mitsubishi van has an automatic, wanted a 5 spd manual but this was the only used 4x4 van I could find when I was looking, and didn't have time to wait for something else. We were in Chile up on a mountain at about...

    AT Horizon led lighting test

What are you using for the lights? I am looking for some inexpensive LEDs to use in my camper project. What I would like is a bunch of lights like I can get here in Peru. It is a rechargeable hand spotlight with 15 LEDs, very bright and runs a long time on one charge. They are only $6. I took...

    $339 Honda/Yamaha knock-off 1KW Generator at CostCo

If you want a cheap, and I'm sure noisy, generator, check out Harbor Freight, they have a 1000W, for $190, and a 2200W for $399, both are EPA and CARB cert. It doesn't give any noise rating for them. They are also the larger "roll cage" type, and heavier...

    Isuzu NPR Camper

I'm not sure, maybe in Lima. Until recently, many of the vehicles for sale here were used, from Japan, and then in Tacna (the port area) they would be converted to left hand drive. All types were available there, which is where I got my Mitsubishi 4x4 van. New laws are supposed to prohibit the...

    Isuzu NPR Camper

Thanks Thanks guys for the great information, I will be ordering John Speed's book shortly, looks like it will be very helpful. Also will be looking at Stephen Stewart's site when I have more time. The Internet is really slow right now. I have tried to download the Izusu Bodybuilder's Guide...

    $339 Honda/Yamaha knock-off 1KW Generator at CostCo

It is possible to put a better muffler on a cheaper generator like these and get the sound down to the level of the Honda/Yamaha models? How important is it to have a CARB certified unit if you don't live in California? Are there any restrictions on use of non-CARB models in California by out...

    Isuzu NPR Camper

Been having way too much fun planning and designing, hard to get to sleep at night! After looking at photos of the truck on the web, I had to make a few more changes to accommodate things like the batteries and air filter, etc. Here are the latest exterior views. I am using Open Office, but...

Cab over bed on a tilt cab truck Thanks, Chip. I'm sure there will be more changes to the design when I try to convert it from paper to wood and metal! Actually the exterior length of the camper is 16'. The 132.5" WB NPR is supposed to have no more than a 14' box, according to the Isuzu specs...

Thanks for the link, Kerry. Duh, I feel like an idiot! I have been spending lot's of time thinking about how to do a cabover bed and didn't even stop to think that the pass through to the cab is a bigger problem! I would like to see the one that ttravis mentioned. I did draw up a floorplan...
