Nobody but me notices the slightly increased throaty sounds. I can only hear the 5% increase with the windows down. Its great for extra ground clearance and I have had no issues with state inspections.
Thats a great idea about opening the door - wish I had thought of that. I used my son's...
Agreed, its common to switch the rods for off road use. I use to before I got the IIDtool. I cant imagine running 'lifted' 100% on these twisty mt roads.
I got mine on Amazon - was a good deal at the time. Not so much now:

I had a cheap harbor freight 12v compressor and recently the ARB CKMA12 Air Compressor - both fill the xjack no problem.
Awesome Racehorse! Do you have more pics? Was that start as a winch compatible a-frame, or did you cut up a non-winch one? Mine has 4 bolts into the frame on the front, but I dont see that on yours.
I have the same experiences with x-jack and hi-lifts. I prefer the xjack, but always have inflated it off my air compressor. I cut off my tailpipes just in front of the rear axle, so thats not a good inflation option for me. Plus I never liked the idea of exhaust smell in the truck after using...
In the same boat. Love my OEM A-frame but someday will want to a winch too. I have seen the Lucky8 bumper a couple times in person and think its the best option currently available that embodies the A-frame look. The hidden winch trays are almost just as expensive.
All 2007+ and some late 2006 North America Spec LR3s had TPMS. I didnt think 2005's did, but its odd that your OEM wheels came with wheel sensors and not the have the feature.
With the 275/65 r18 Duratracs it was immediately evident when my tire was rubbing the upper control arm. When my wheel bearing gave out I stopped within 50 feet because of the rumble. No tire damage, but I was stuck until towed. A spacer might be a good insurance policy.
I installed the ARB rear locker: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/142189-LR3-(Discovery3)-ARB-Rear-Locker-installed
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
This exact same thing happened offroading to me twice, six months apart. A little scarry to have the engine acting up out in the wilderness. Cleaning the throttle body at home fixed it. Offroading must shift the fuel trim calibrations enough to cause the idle/stalling issues.
I have had several alignments at my current dealer, and this past alignment fixed my over sensitive DSC annoyance. not all alignments are created equal.
I used a IR thermometer to map the surface temp of the inside, middle, and outside running surface. If the middle was hotter, I lowered the pressure and vise-versa. I with even temps across the running surface of the time I was at front 47psi and rear 51psi. This was for my 32" duratracs.
Great looking ride - GLWtS! The 1st pic shows LR OEM door ding protectors (not sure official name), but not the rest of the pics. Were they added or removed?
It could be coincidence, but I felt the same way against DSC until the locker was installed. Could also be because I was also in "monkey snot mud" all weekend. My tactics are definitely slower and less throttle needed than ever before. Maybe DSC and HDC were primarily designed and tested with...
One more variable to consider is hill decent control (HDC). I dislikes it and always turned it off util last week in the uwharrie mud. It was an absolute necessity...strangely dsc seemed to work better on the assents when both were turned on. No idea why it works, but I will leave it on now.
