You missed the term “heritage”.. Small word, huge difference in meaning. And no (again..) Design is by far not what differ this new LR SUV but the fanctunality.

Because the 1st LC’s descendent is the 70 series and not the 200.. And if you place the first LC near a 2020 70’ series LC you can clearly see it. Same for GW.

No. You can read my previews comments. I think it’s probably is a very capable SUV. It’s not a defender You’re the one how tries so hard to justify something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You refer to it as a proved “global exploration” before it completed the first real world use.

Did I missed the herds of Defenders out there in Africa/Mideast/outback/Asia? Funny how assumption became facts before it travelled a single mile/km on real world (organized promotion tracks don’t count). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Other platforms are not so limited by caliper size, and over sensor oriented suspension and can change the tires size.

You totally missed the point. I was referring to availability of low profile tire in provincial areas. Not the LR brand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

60 is low. When off road tires went low as 65 you could somehow swallow the pill, but it crawled down to 60 and even 55 in LR. You’ll have a true fifficulty airing down, and finding quality off-road worthy tires. Especially out of the big urban centers. In case of tire failure, I’m wandering if...

The equivalent revival of the original Defender is a modern G or a 76. Not the LC you’re familiar in NA. They are the proof that if LR wanted, it could be done. LR chose a different path, and created what looks like a great off-road performer SUV.

So?.. It’s still in relation to the platform it serves. And the sidewall hight is an easy role of thumb to estimate the risk of sidewall rapture when off-roading. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yes you can.. Because the tire size is related to the car’s weight, and the air pressure in conjunction with the tire volume. Been there, still doting it from time to time.. [emoji41] And a 2.5+ ton truck with 55-60 sidewall, is like sending a heavy weight boxer into the ring with stilettos..

5 door 80”? That’s a Suzuki Jimmy size. The 90 couldn’t fit 4 doors, and due to short wheelbase, is one of the least comfortable off road platforms.

It’s not “only” 1/4” height. It’s how much extra air you can put in, and the weight it can support given x pressure, hanse the footprint, ground pressure etc. it’s an air tank and not a 1/4stripe of rubber.

You’re right. I was over generalizing and fell into the same trap. Still, The traditional markets of Defenders and LC70, and other “simple mechanic” trucks is not North America. Never was. And as such, you could (exclude the Defender), still buy them today. The “leftovers” are added to the...

Do we know each other? Otherwise, you’re making un based assumption. I’m not posting assumptions derived from YouTube or “romantic” magazines. Typical North American attitude to think that these are “leftover” vehicles left for the poor locals by visitors from the rich countries. Wake up...

Fatal Combination of thick fingers, small screen and auto correct.. Yes. Heavily loaded, off&on road. that’s a purpose platform. Yes, it’s a enduring for the driver, but You can throw anything in the back, drill it to fit what ever you want without heartache or punching one of dozen...

Exactly. The Defender was a real working platform. The Difscivery is an SUV. Seems like a very capable one, but an SUV. Farm/NGO/Army/camel trophy, you name it. And yes, farmers/working people do need sometimes to move a dead something/dirty stuff in the back. In the end of the day, you just...

I don’t see how someone who liked the roughness of the original Defender concept will “like” what the Difscovery has to offer, let alone able to buy it. “Dead sheep and firewood in the back? Sure.. bring it on.., drill a hole for the torch charge stand? No problem”..
