I just ordered the Icom id-51a plus from Main Trading Company for $250. Looking at the videos it seems like a pretty sweet little radio and the anniversary editions are a lot cheaper than the regular versions. Chad

What I wish is that the test would teach you the protocols for using the radio. A lot of the stuff on it doesn't seem relevant for today's ham who orders his equipment from Ham Radio Outlet. I would rather have learned what to say when transmitting and when to use my call sign. Chad

Moab has lots or repeaters near by. When you put a repeater on top of a mountain it's easy to hit it. 2M might be all you need. Chad
