A new Subaru will give you new Subaru problems. The 2007 FJ Cruiser I had for 5 years was the most trouble-free vehicle I've ever owned, after a 1987 Chevy V-10.
I think the nag timer is based on the installation date. Did you install Gaia on all these devices on the same date?
Also, go to https://www.gaiagps.com/user/subscriptions/ and see if your subscription has expired.
I've needed a spare tire twice. Once was in my wife's car 5 minutes from home. The other was an hour into the woods with no cell service. The latter made me question whether or not I needed two spares.
You need an assortment.
My most-used kit is a set of bottomless sockets from GearWrench.
A good set of metric ratchet wrenches.
A big breaker bar, a couple good pry bars, and some Vise Grips.
And my new favorite, a set of LONG box end wrenches.
I would consider a way to add some protection for the front-facing actuators for the pop top. Low hanging tree branches getting tangled in them could make for a lot of work.
I wound up with this plate years ago when Photobucket decided to make hosting photos more expensive than having your own website, and finding a 7-letter domain that's still available is practically unheard of. This is where the plate lives now.
After years of trying various implements, now I bring just a 4 lb hammer and a diamond wedge. It's about $25 for the pair. For firewood on the trail, this has proven the perfect compact combo.

I'm seriously considering a Ram 2500 for my next build as well. Few trails I've been on in my area have really required a vehicle smaller than full-size. Being able to tow generally whatever would be awesome. Having plenty of payload capacity for an Alucab/Four Wheel Camper might make a...
I've replied already, but now I'm thinking of the actual strange circumstances I've met.
In 2018, after leaving my Dad's funeral, a friend and I pulled into a spot we'd stayed at previously and were setting up in the dark. My FJ had nearly 360° of light and I had them all on while we were...
I own a firearm. I take one with me when off-grid. Sometimes it's carried. Sometimes not. I have never needed to use it, or even think of it.
I have plenty of tools fitting that description. I also carry a first aid kit I've never needed, but most everyone admits it's good to have one of...
Rooftop tents are expensive, and not something needed by most people. When they discover this after a few nights, the amount of money spent only to end in disappointment really fuels their anger.
I've had mine for 6 years and still use it every chance I get. I have about 150 nights in it now.
After more than 20 years of enjoying the hobby, prior to the current name, I find my interest in what others are doing with their vehicles has basically evaporated. The exceptions to that are older vehicles (typically pre-90s) that are still dependable or rare/unusual builds.
When I was...
Why do you think you need to wear a seatbelt? A crash isn't all that bad as the news makes it out to be. I travel year round and I'm not anti-seat belt but I have no interest in navigating the laws of where I'm going every time I cross a state line. I rarely feel unsafe. If I do I drive...
