    Trip with firearm

I recommend against asking the police for their legal interpretations, especially in regard to firearms.

    Trip with firearm

https://handgunlaw.us Typically it's best to keep it on your person where it's available to you immediately and always under your control. Unloaded, you might as well leave it at home. Locked in a case might be used when you're traveling through somewhere that doesn't have reciprocity with TX...

    Pass-through really necessary?

I think I would feel better about solo travel with something that was pass-through. I want to try an Ursa Minor J30 next, but I'm in no position to replace my current vehicle.

    Smaller camp stoves?

The Coleman Fold and Go is what I've used for the last couple of years. It really works well being no bigger than it is. I have both the grill and griddle trays for it and use both frequently. That said, I've found a cast iron griddle from Lodge that fits my 1963 Coleman 2-burner and I may go...

    Gas can storage

Could be. Or you could fab your own mount and use an $80 25-gallon 1986 K5 Blazer tank with a custom fill/transfer method.

    Gas can storage

20 gallons is a lot of spare fuel. You should look into options for an auxiliary fuel tank mounted under the vehicle.

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

I keep my CFX3 55 set at 30° F which keeps drinks as cold as possible without freezing. The inside temps seem to be slightly warmer than the setpoint. YMMV

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

Probably so that the fridge can’t side far enough back to block its ventilation.

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

There is no moving anything away from the walls. Th coontents slide all around when you're driving. The basket is well designed though and tends to keep the contents mostly away from the walls. I will experiment with standing things upright. That sounds like a reasonable possibility. The...

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

I appreciate you standing behind the product! I will certainly reach out if the temperature issue persists. After 4 days, the temperature differential has shrunk to 4° F. The walls of the refrigerator are achieving my setpoint, but the contents have had trouble cooling off until today. I'll...

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

I would never go through the hassle of returning something like the refrigerator over a minor fit and finish issue, I was just offering an honest assessment of the product I received. As for the temperature, I've kept it set at 30° F today. Ambient got up to almost 80° F. Internal temps...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

The 66-77 Broncos were of similar dimensions and were considered full-size...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

I've just skimmed the threads, so I might have missed it, but Colorado K5 is one of the biggest groups around for built, capable full-size rigs. https://ck5.com/ My little brother lives in Johnson City, TN and plays a variety of bluegrass instruments. He says violin music is played on...

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

I got my CFX3 55 yesterday. I was pretty disappointed by the lack of info on how to swap the direction of the lid. In the end, I looked closely at the hinge and used a pry bar, but at no point was I certain that what I was doing was right. There's no info on how to do it in the included...

The Official Dometic CFX Fridge Feed!

@Dometic My CFX3 55 will be in next week and I've had an idea. I don't have much use for ice cubes, but I would love to have some containers in te same size as the ice trays, just undivided for carrying ice cream. Do you plan to offer anything like that?

    Charging Tablets for Kids

The simplest thing you can do is put a 12v marine port in your grille in front of your battery. I use this for RTT lights, my air compressor, and charging things in camp. The port I used was ~$12 from Amazon. https://amzn.to/35333hA

    The "Expedition hat" thread

For 2+ years, I have lived in this hat. I've used it in sun, rain, snow, etc. I have no idea whether it's still available or not. It's from Red Head, and I got it from Bass Pro for about $50. Seemed like a lot for a hat, but it's held together great and always goes back into shape.

    Gas can kill.

I've owned a pickup that had the entire gas tank behind the seat. 5 gallons hung over the rear tail light will not be the end of me. Go worry somewhere else.

    Laptop vs tablet

I think of a latptop for creating and consuming content, where a tablet is just for the latter. Games and productivity tools on mobile platforms have come a long way, but there's still no comparison to what's available for an actual computer.
