    WTB: DeLorme InReach (non-Garmin) Cradle/Mount

There's a couple tricks when searching to help control results. It can vary from site to site, so Google's methods are different than Craigslist's, but here's the general example: To include a word, use quotes. To prevent inclusion, use the minus symbol. "delorme" inreach mount -garmin...

    No refrigeration needed

I carry a little bit of everything, but thinking about the non-refigerated stuff specifically: Vienna Sausages Bush's Baked Beans Easy Cheese / crackers Peanut butter and jelly Beef jerky

who is using a real gps vs a tablet

I like Gaia because of all the incredible features, but I find myself sticking with the Garmin Earthmate app because of its simplicity. I need to spend more time getting comfortable with all Gaia can do, but I'm fairly new to creating my own route and using a device to follow it.

I hate this process. Vehicle ideas/input?

What about a JKU with the Ursa Minor J30?

My setup explained: And advice needed with which GPS software to run?

From what I've read in another thread, only the 4G iPads have GPS chips, not the wi-fi models. That might help determine things one way or another.

In Gaia which maps do you like?

If they're available for the area you're exploring, the additional details on the National Geographic Trails Illustrated map are fantastic. We carry paper copies of these maps as well. They show good places for photos, camping, permanent and seasonal gates, trail types, etc.

Does anyone run a Detroit locker in GM 10 bolt?

There's no reason not to consider a rear axle swap. Then you can justify the costlier, more durable locker choice. It's cheaper and easier than you might think.

Does anyone run a Detroit locker in GM 10 bolt?

I ran a Lockright in my 87 Silverado. It was great. I wouldn't bother with something as heavy duty as the Detroit on the 10-bolt. The axle itself isn't strong enough to justify an expensive locker.

Gas or propane what do you like better?

I prefer white gas for lanterns but I'm slowly collecting a bit of propane now: torch, Zodi shower, and a new compact Coleman grill.

    Tepui hinge not engaging

You have the ladder setup too high. It takes weight (pre-load, really) to make the hinge engage and stay together. You can also slide the halves toward each other. Make sure your mattress cover or some other material isn't pinched in the hinge. These are all typical points of adjustment when...

    Cook set or Camp Table?

I've had mine about 3 years and I've been really happy with the roll table. I also carry a folding plastic picnic table, but the roll table is aluminum, so you can set hot stuff straight on it.

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

If the bolts can rub your cover, you should flip the hardware or add the acorn covers.

    I'm loving it.

Rtt on a Crew cab roof

Unless you're planning on driving around with them up there, that number is irrelevant. Roof rack capacity is the safe load when dynamic forces are at play. When parked and still, the capacity is something like 6 times greater. I've seen some in-depth math on it before, but can't recall...

Rtt on a Crew cab roof

In looking though part numbers, it would appear that the OEM rails are from Thule. I went to their site and found the item. https://www.thule.com/en-us/us/roof-rack/roof-bars/thule-aeroblade-arb53-_-arb53999 The lower capacity rails from Thule were for 165 lbs. Even the larger tents look to...

    Lights or portable air

Dewalt, Ridgid (Home Depot's tool brand, not the Rigid lighting company), and other companies are making battery-powered pancake compressors now. You should look into them before going with the ARB. For your LEDs, I'd keep shopping. Both options you presented seem overpriced.

Will Automakers Get the Market and Make Simple Vehicles Again?

With all the government-mandated crumple zones and other safety features, current vehicles are designed to self-destruct rather than for longevity.

    Why use a RTT?

Good reasons for a RTT: they're out of the mud and dirt so they're clean, they hold all of your bedding, freeing up the interior, they're incredibly comfortable, they offer some additional security from wildlife, they can provide the side or rear of you vehicle with additional shelter, most...
