    Antenna separation question.

Should mention the am/fm radio antenna is right fender right by the glass. The 2/70sh is going to be mounted via nmo in the center of the truck. The second antenna was going to be mounted 20 or so inches behind. First, was for situational coms and aprs. Secondary, antenna which was going to be...

    Antenna separation question.

Much appreciated. Probably only going to be able to get at max about 20-24 inches of separation. Desense really what i was worried about. Have a radio go deaf and get damaged. Hurts when both radios I was looking at are about $400 each. As far as the antennas not touching going to be tough...

    Antenna separation question.

How far apart is the recommended distance between 2 2m/70cm antennas? How can I limit overloading the front of the radios? I plan on having two 2m antennas of the room of a 2002 suburban. One for an ID5100a and the other for an FTM 400.

    Mobile Ham Etiquette Questions.

Learning, some of this isn't really published anywhere. You got ask from what I can tell. So any info is welcome. It didn't come across wrong in any way to me. Things like will a pogo connector to Rj11 will work for a quick disconnect for the remote radio heads work well, or are the losses to...

    Mobile Ham Etiquette Questions.

Makes a lot of sense. I will keep that in mind. I guess if it is questionable in my mind I could just log it in eQSL.

    Mobile Ham Etiquette Questions.

Hoping some of the more seasoned hams can answer a couple questions. I am a new Technician, less than 2 weeks and have some questions. Unfortunately, I can't make the local ham meets or nets due to conflicts with time. My neighbor who was kinda my informal elmer has now moved cross country so...

2005 Sequoia cranks but won’t start

MIghty be stupid, However, quick questions. 1. When was the timing belt last changed? Most of the time timing belts and plugs are done on the same interval. 2. Do you regularly run the fuel low? Fuel pressure gauges are cheap.

    2006 Suburban 2500 lift/tires

Do you have to flip the shock bolt on the rear of a 2500 like you do on a 1500?

    Considering a 2005 Tahoe Z71.

I love the bench option. Almost all the fleet and ls 2500's come with the bench. Four bolts and the center seats come out easily, you can replace it with an old police console for you year. Which you can use to mount, scanner, displays etc. Keep in mind the gmt800's the center row benches do...

Maxme from Matco (made by Launch, prepare for a lot of chinglish and a terrible ui) is a viable option. Most scanners will have those basic functions. I'm talking about actuating modules, motors, lights, solenoids etc.

Scan tool for repairs and troubleshooting?

Short answer new, No. You need a bilateral scanner unfortunately, they average for entry level ones are quite a chunk of change. Torque app will let you read and clear most codes. This can let you limp a car home, not always. Hard faults will not clear till the issue is corrected, for example if...

Looking at buying a 03-05 Suburban, what red flags should I look for?

G80 is the RPO code for the auto locking rear end on GM trucks, it's made by Eaton. I say generally because you will find that sometimes mostly on cars/trucks the g80 code will refer to a posi-traction (limited slip) unit. Not sure if the z71 skid plates will fit on a 2500. Since the frames if...

Looking at buying a 03-05 Suburban, what red flags should I look for?

My z71 factory hitch says its rated for 5k and 12k with a weight distribution. The truck itself is rated to 7200. I really wanted the 2500/6.0L/4.10 combo. G80 on 2500 you never hear about the rear blowing up, plus no real gas mileage penalty if at all compared to a 1500/5.3L, with the...

Looking at buying a 03-05 Suburban, what red flags should I look for?

In general these are high failure parts, water pump, fuel pump, intake manifold gasket, brake lines those all seem to go out like clock work on the gmt800. Power steering cooler or cooler hose for hydro boost models. Those are the normal things they come in for, that are not maintenance items...
