I believe it's the Volkswagen Amarok with a diesel engine - gnel brought it up from Mexico. The VW has great milage as I only saw it being filled once maybe twice for the whole trip.

Yes we did. Spent a little over a week up in Jasper too. First few days we stayed at a hotel in town. Then we moved to one of the provincial parks before heading back to Banff. The Provincial parks are quite nice. They provide free firewood and hot showers.

We use a 12v electric blanket. Works well and stays warm all night - or as long as the battery lasts :-)
