New to "car" camping. What family tent for family of 4?

So I agree with about 99% of this post. I've been "Car Camping" with 4 kids and the wife for the better part of ten years, and during that time we made very good use of an exceedingly cheap "Magellan" (Academy House Brand, roughly equal to Coleman). When the weather was nice, it was more than...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I love them as well, I'm looking for a nice one to build up for my son when he starts driving. Every man should start in a Toyota truck. Just a fat guy on a little bike

Who makes the very best white gas stoves and lanterns?

I am restoring a few of these as well. I'm thinking of grabbing the valve to allow me to run propane in my 400, as well as white gas. I second and third old Coleman parts, as well as Coleman itself. Great, great products. Sent from a tablet more powerful than WOPR

The Overland Adventures - Ozark National Forest - Arkansas, USA

Have you guys ever strung this together with a roll through Ouachita National Forest? Would it even be worth it? Im down in Austin, Texas. We were looking at a Spring Break trip up through AR, but we've now decided to delay that, maybe til the end of summer, or perhaps even a Christmas trip...

First Camping Trip with Wife and Kid... Not so good...

We have a few Coleman matresses, the self inflating type full depth kind, 7 or 10 inches. They are god sends. Im in the Army, and I have no issue sleeping on a thin thermarest, (I've been doing it for 30 years) but if you want a happy camping experience, you want your campers to sleep well...

    1st Gen CR-V.. Any others?

It's 100% the sway bar end links. They are ALL broken. Takes about an hour if you don't have wicked corrosion. Best of luck if you do have corrosion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

New Build - Choosing a Land Cruiser for Family Overlanding

I'm gonna chimin here too, but I don't have much to add that hasn't been covered. I had a 2002 discovery II from new, and for the first 75,000 miles, we loved it. It will always hold a special place in our hearts, it really stranded us in some wonderful places. But really, when it ran, we loved...

    Apple cancels Aperture

My take on it, having used both pieces of software since they were released, and Lightroom is just the better of the two. It's missing the integration with the OS that aperture has, but otherwise.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Help Please! 2003 Disco Will Not Run

Yeah I have it on my DropBox, if you have any issues getting it, let me know, I will shoot you my link. The thing with the Disco II is that sometimes, seemingly unrelated system failures, will cause the vehicle to simply not run. We had a sensor that controls the AC vent bypass fail once, and...

Help Please! 2003 Disco Will Not Run

Correction- The FSM specs 52 PSI as the nominal, it will throw an error code readable by any cheap OBDII reader if the pressure is below threshold.

Help Please! 2003 Disco Will Not Run

Not Running is their natural state. It sounds like the fuel pump, I think the nominal PSI is 115 at the rail, and it is a VERY common failure. I'll check the FSM right quick for the right specs and reply on here. Mine went out four times in the time I owned it. Luckily its an easy fix if you...

    1st Gen CR-V.. Any others?

Little CR-V I just inherited a 2000 LX, which came at the right time, as my 80 really needs to go down for maintenance. I agree with almost all of the previous posts on this thing, parts are dirt cheap (Entire front suspension rebuilt with OEM parts for less than 200.00). Mine is FWD only...

    RMP&O's v8 80-series

I'm looking at going this route as well. my 1FZ is in need of some real work, so I have really been going down the road toward the GM V8. I followed the Jonsey 6BT build, but thats just really a lot more engineering for negligible return. My goals are just simple too, a more modern powerplant, a...
